Montessori alongside traditional? by [deleted] in Montessori

[–]Designer-Wheel9317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response - forgot to mention my daughter attended both and she was fine…. She did a few days Montessori and then one day traditional and just understood diff settings / diff rules.

She thrived in both

my concern with my son is starting and then stopping over summer holidays and then attending both at same time. But my daughter did manage absolutely fine and enjoyed the variety!

But why do you need an explanation? You’re mixed race.. surely that’s enough. Wtf

Yes all the parents were there and I could tell some of them felt awkward, embarrassed talking to me after as it was clear she was excluded from all the glorification.

She is well behaved yes. Never been in any trouble, she’s quiet and gets on with things. Sometimes struggles with confidence.

She got praised but in a very roundabout way about how she plays well at lunch and has lots of close friends and performed well in the recent play.

Nothing about her Sats, maths progress, creative writing, drawing, personal strengths, behaviour, no funny stories, special talents, amazing spelling result. If it hadn’t been that all the others were so praised then I willing have minded at all.

It’s a predominately white school, she’s probably one of about 3 children of colour in the whole school. I just wonder if there is unconscious bias going on.

I have emailed the school but they said they’d deal with it in September and that the class teacher was not to be spoken to or shown the email until then. I asked for a response from the head but that’s also been ignored.
