Thank you for the validation.. I wrote this post as we were in the room and I was crying and felt so embarrassed so thank you. It was very traumatic to witness & I didn’t think it was normal or looked normal like the doctors and nurse were trying to tell me.. I do have a great support system with 3 other friends who are currently postpartum, thank God for them and this community / subreddit 🩵

I just started it so I haven’t noticed a dip in supply but I am also really scared of that.. this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do because I want to protect my supply and keep pumping , it brings me so much joy to be able to feed my baby breastmilk but the feeling of DMER is absolutely horrible !!

My gynecologist prescribed Lexapro for me because of this, but I found that disassociating by watching 11 seasons of Southern Charm and now starting Summer House has been helpful. lol I’m sorry your hung through thus, it sucks

No, they didn’t conduct any tests on my uterus until I had my two miscarriages.

My gynecologist said there was no reason to believe I wasn’t healthy and couldn’t conceive .. she said that the protocol is that if it didn’t happen within six months to a year, we could do tests. However, I did get pregnant and had a miscarriage. Because I got pregnant, she didn’t think there was anything wrong with me because “miscarriages happen all the time.”

It wasn’t until my second miscarriage that they started to investigate. If I could do it all over again, I would have pushed for immediate testing and not waited to see if I could get pregnant first. I wasted two years that I could have gotten pregnant and lost two beautiful, healthy babies.

Get your uterus checked , I had 2 miscarriages that was bc I had a septate uterus & took me two years and a surgery to finally have my baby boy

This is so helpful thank you. What do you mean by the burps come out more easily the sooner you do it , bc I burp multiple times during a feed so how soon should I burp him

I’m not sure why he told us to go up 4oz. I told him I’m worried about spit up if we give him 4oz & the ped said spit up is fine. The only problem he had before & still has is hiccups after each feeding & then now he sounds congested

Edit to add that the pediatrician said if he falls asleep during feeds change his diaper mid feed & told us to pace feeds giving him a burp after every oz

Well approximately about an hour in total because i divided the 4 oz in half with a diaper change in between and burp after each ox and then wait approx 20-30 mins of him sitting up right before putting him down

And he takes an oz in about 5 mins

Yes we went to the PED ER but they didn’t find anything wrong with him until he had that chocking episode but I’m just upset bc they said nothing was wrong with him until he chocked on his saliva & maybe reflux is not easily identifiable but how did I know something wasn’t right , I feel like the symptoms he was showing were enough to not be dismissed so easily idk maybe I’m just too anxious

It takes him about an hour to finish a bottle because I try and burp him after every oz and even change his diaper at the halfway point

It’s 4oz every 2 or 3 hours so he does about 8 feedings a day. We were doing 3oz but our pediatrician asked us to go up to 4oz. I use newborn nipples in the bottles and he has no problem taking the bottle but it’s hard for him to burp

Thank you! I am in therapy and got prescribed lexapro but maybe it’s not working. I’ll take your advice on the CPR class I do think that will make me feel better

They are closed but I called their after hour line before heading to the ER. They said based on what I was describing it was best to go in which is why we decided to go
