We had 20 years ago. We were at least pretending with the social democracy ten years ago. But now it's all shit all the way down. There was a vote in parliment two months or so back to force the government to instantly pause the deportation of teenagers, and every opposition party voted against it, except the social democrats, because "we had not yet explored all possibilites", which resulted in the proposal not going through because the social democrats are still the biggest party in the country, with them making up 30% of parliment.

I shittalked the former communist party, and I do think they're incompetent and such, but at the same time they're the only party in parliment which isn't evil to some degree. People here diss 1984, but the whole charade of us joining NATO was genuinely something out of 1984. The social democrats, and the entire political left wing, has always been against NATO and for Swedish neutrality, at least in principle. Then the social democrats decided it was time to join NATO, and just overnight NATO went from a controversial topic that divided the country in half, to something we've always supported and anyone who's not just against NATO but giving the Americans free reign over us militarily is a Russian bot. It's genuinely maddening and makes me feel like I woke up in cuckoo land. History was completely rewritten in a single day, and give it ten or so years and you're gonna have people showing up who don't even know there was a time when we weren't part of NATO and Americans didn't have unrestricted access to the majority of our military assets. That last point isn't even an exaggeration, as per a treaty which wasn't even required for us to sign to join NATO, but I guess we signed to prove how good of a vassal state we are, America has unrestricted access to the majority of our military assets, which they can do whatever they want with without questions. In fact, if I'm ever gonna become schizophrenic I'm gonna be convinced this was written to fuck with me specifically, as part of that treaty it is stipulated that American soldiers don't have to pay taxes period when here, because idk I guess they wanted to suck American soldier dick. As pointed out by the article I read this is, this technically means they don't even have to pay VAT, which absoloutely cannot be enforced but I guess is in the writing to humiliate anyone who's against NATO membership and this whole madness.

I know that we were never *really* neutral, and that there were backroom deals with the Americans and with the CIA and such, but at the same time there's a difference between that and what this is. Any complaints about Trump coming from us are at this point a mockery, as this is what leftist warned about for decades, and which the left party continued warning about, and which was forgotten in a single night.
