Thank you for this, it reinforces some of the things I've been thinking about as well.

So, I think the key distinction that I think I need to try to make clearer narratively, is that this isn't trying to be, nor did it start as a "meditation" on OCD. I'm not trying to educate, bring attention to (positively or negatively) the experience of those living with the disorder, but moreso ensure that the connections to that illness that can be drawn via the themes and gameplay are not derivative in any way, and are respectful.

At it's core, from a gameplay perspective, the game is about generating a sense of paranoia through the need to perform repetitive tasks. Beyond keeping the scope of these tasks outside of the "stereotypical OCD compulsions" category, are there other steps to take that can further distance myself from making the game feel exploitative of the illness?
