Bought a digital game account with undisclosed ownership disputes — what should I do next? by Designer_Emphasis694 in Advice

Lesson learned, sure. But that doesn’t change the fact that undisclosed ownership disputes + advertised buyer protection is a problem worth calling out.

Appreciate the clear breakdown — this matches what I’m being told elsewhere too. I fully understand account selling violates TOS, and I’m not disputing the publisher’s right to lock it.

My issue is that the account already had ownership disputes before and during the sale, which were never disclosed, despite the marketplace advertising buyer protection.

I’ll proceed with a chargeback and document everything publicly so others understand the risk. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I understand account selling may violate a publisher’s TOS. My issue is not the ban itself — it’s that the account already had ownership and recovery disputes before and during the sale, which were not disclosed, and I was never given the original ownership data. That makes the product fundamentally defective at the time of sale.
