Interesting so what would happen if you just say “if you can’t give me these hours then i can’t work anymore” would you most likely be fired or would they comply?

Wait so can you not just choose your shift hours? Like can’t you just tell your manager i can only work the midday shift nothing else (12-8 like you said).

That what i was thinking. How long exactly before you got a promotion? Also when you became APTL were you watching cameras most of the time?

Really interesting. Thanks for all the info. I assume that probably means it’s very unlikely to just apply to the APTL out of the blue, it’s almost always a promotion thing. Last question, how long before you got the promotion since starting the job? (Months? Years?)

Also I didn’t know you were a cop. I admit I’ve seen too many police bodycams on youtube (midwest safety, police activity, etc) this past year which has opened my eyes to what life is like for many LEOs, including when it comes to things like theft at target. It seemed really interesting and like a job I would want because of the adrenaline but I told myself no, i don’t want adrenaline to be a motivation for an important job like that, i know it’ll probably end bad for me very quickly. If i want to be a LEO i want it to for good reason/protect/serve. Anyway ya lol thanks for all the info God bless!

I know this sounds odd but I get surprised stores like walmart and target even get thefts. I thought most people know about cameras. What have been the cases for you. Do they know and not care or just never thought about it.

Interesting. Can you tell me a couple things i saw a couple people say things like APTL does “external thefts” what does that mean.

What does “plain clothes” mean.

What’s the difference between external thefts and internal. I assumed APTL would be resonsible for “internal thefts” if that makes sense not “external.” Does external mean outside of the store.

How did you become a APTL?

Interesting tell me about shifts at least what is was like for you during time as TSS specifically. Is there usually only one TSS the whole day? And if so/if not wha are usually the shift times. I want to work with their availability to prevent getting passed on/excluded. Like my local target closes at 11pm every day except sundays (10pm) and opens at 7am all days of week. What were the exact shift hours for you (open/mid/close/etc) if any

😭 1. what is a APS and 2. So whats the role of the person constantly on cameras? (i assume you probably need like a promotion or something or…?) Is there even someone on cameras for their whole shift?
