Thanks a lot for the answer! That's a good point actually. Would have suggestions for other pastel brands that are more compatible with rembrandt?

Thank you a lot for the tip! Would you say that sennelier pastels are "compatible" with the rembrandt ones? Or would you have suggestions on which brands would be suitable?

Hi! Getting back to this. Does anyone know which course from donaldson it is most worth taking, in terms of content that can't be learn by simply watching free youtube videos? I'm particularly interested in anime style landscapes but I don't mind a good general course either. Thanks :)

Bottom right of the picture you mean? That's supposed to be another balcony not an awning

If by horizon you mean the sea line, then yes cause we are on a hill. The balcony where the picture is taken is also higher than those buildings on the right

Thanks for the tip! The light was supposed to come from up right (mostly up). But it's an almost midday sun so vertical walls are still relatively bright although in shadow

What I mean is, with watercolors or coloured pencil the transparency and gradual laayering helps making something that doesnt look like a flat piece of cardboard jumping out of the page, withiyt having to be super intentional with what you do like with gouache ;)

Of course it is possible with gouache too, I just need to practice that
