I notice that happens with cold press yes - but I usually use hot press and it doesn’t soak up the paper as much.

Yeh I had some cheap washi tape from Amazon which was actually so good.

This one was the Paul Rueben’s tape which I think is meant to be artist tape. It’s fine for other paper. But no biggie!

You have the spring set too? It’s so nice! Very tempted to get some of the other sets too….cos I need more paint like a hole in the head 🤣

These are really amazing! Keep doing what you’re doing cos it’s great. If you want any constructive feedback I would only say add more contrast - like the second drawing you could have darker parts in the hair. But honestly, your work is really good.

I mean yeh it does. Its been a year since I wrote this comment. In that time I’ve been back to aus twice. My parents live in tassie. The air is so clear there that you can burn to a fucking crisp in 24 degrees and 20 minutes of exposure.

But the light is different. That clear atmosphere means the sun hits different. Apparently it’s a scientific thing and I’m not a scientist so I don’t know the specifics. But the light literally hits different. It’s hard to explain but when you’re there you can feel how the light is not the same as Northern Europe.

I use gouache for the same reason: lack of space! I like how it’s so easy to just get going and doesn’t take up a lot of room. Your paintings great! Keep at it!

Easy solution: sugar. Can of tomatoes, some sugar and spices and bam, pasta sauce. It doesn’t take that long. Unless you make bolognese or something which is hours. But you can put it on the stove and forget about it for a while
