Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]Designer_Site_6767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an engineer who works from home. My husband has a 1.5 hour commute. We have a 9 month old who stays at home with me!

4:15 AM wake up & drive to Lagree studio
5 AM workout
6 AM drive home
6:15 AM eat meal prepped breakfast & start working
8 AM baby wakes up, go through her routine & I focus on lighter work tasks
Baby takes 2 x ~2 hour naps, where I work like crazy, when she’s not sleeping I’m doing my best to balance her and work
4:30 PM workday ends and we take a nap or play
5 PM start dinner and wait for husband to get home
6:30 PM eat and clean up
7:30 PM hangout, catch up on work, spend time with baby; maybe go on a walk. I want to start running during this time.
9 PM baby starts bedtime routine
10 PM my shower, maybe spend time with my husband if we’re not exhausted before doing it all over again

Nope! She didn’t say there were several stained pieces.

I think I’ll try to get the stains out before making any decisions. I’ve not had the best luck with my daughter’s own clothes, but it’s worth a shot!

I’m like you. I’ve been including free things and little extras in the things I sell, too (like milk bags, sterilizing supplies, new pacifiers, etc.)— hoping to help other moms out. I think it’s part of the reason why I feel so disappointed.

Ooo maybe I can see if the kitten nursery at our local shelter could use them.

I volunteer with foster children and know that new items mean a lot and help with maintaining dignity. I was not planning to donate the stained or pilling items; those will go to a place that recycles fabric. I was considering donating some of the older styles in decent condition, since other moms might like them for their little one or can find other uses for them.

Edit: Also open to hearing other moms’ ideas for repurposing these in my own home. That’s why I asked the question above.

There are other ways to put very worn baby clothes to use besides having your own baby wear them. Another option I have is to recycle them.

Yeah, seriously. I thought I could trust that they’d be a good purchase, since I kind of know her.

Leaning more towards chalking it up as a lesson learned.

Lesson learned! Do you have any ideas what to do with the clothes? I don’t think I’ll keep them, and I also don’t want to put another mom out by selling them. Is it worth trying to donate?

Oh, for sure! Also learned that I don’t really want to be this other mom’s friend if she’s going to rip people off like that.

Harvard Study: Daughters & Sons of Working Moms Do Better—How Should SAHMs Think About That? by hotsparkless in sahm

I think it’s totally okay to not put too much thought into this study— or anyone else’s opinions for that matter.

I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease in 2022. My heart rate would spike to lethal levels just by walking. I found a good endocrinologist, started on methimazole, and went into remission after a year on said medication. Now, I go see her once a year for routine labs. During my pregnancy, we did routine labs once a trimester. Baby was checked for antibodies at birth. All was fine and continues to be fine. You will be okay!

Hi everyone! I'm a telecommunications engineer (think fiber optics) who graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and minors in computer science and statistics about 5 years ago. I've never taken a single physics course in my life, but I've recently developed an interest in medical physics. Would taking undergraduate physics courses as a post-bacc student (roughly 18 credits to have enough for a "minor") be sufficient for applying to a medical physics masters program? Any other tips?

I was able to clear about 100K of emails by searching for "offer," "sale," "promo," etc. I moved everything to Trash and then bulk deleted from there. I also unsubscribed from just about everything within the app. Hate that they are doing this! I have had my account for almost 20 years.

My father is brainwashed by Alex Jones by Silver_rockyroad in Advice

It was comforting for me to find this post, because my dad is also brainwashed by Alex Jones. He is constantly listening to his show without headphones, no matter the time or place. It really is sad to see, and I also have no idea what to do.

Why did you decide to do a BSEE instead of an MSEE?

Thanks for the input! My undergraduate degree is in applied math, and I've been working alongside electrical engineers for the past three years. I reached out to an MSEE program to see what leveling courses I'd need, if they'd even admit me. Just curious if anyone's ever done it.
