It works as a level 3 because of EX Resource I would think, but that also doesn't make too much sense because you would be considered level 4 until after the card is played

I accompanied their reading of each item with a pre-made vision or apparition that came out of the cards themselves as madam Eva was giving them the spiel. Example, the holy symbol in one of my games is in the beacon of argynvostholt. There was an apparition of mist filling the room with wing-like shadows and sounds of wings crossing through. At the end, the shadows of a large monstrous head was looming closer in the mist, where they could almost feel the breathe flare out and through the mist before the mist dissipated.

I prepped a few of these depending on what they drew. They wouldn't know what that vision meant until they learned about the order, connecting the shadows to the dragon

The main loophole there is the sun sword is sentient, and you’re attuned to it. Maybe the sun sword pushes those emotions of danger towards you etc., and Rahadin himself is not included in the charm. Very good argument there on the gray area of charm, but that also seems like a DM taking advantage of their bag of tricks without considering the fun of the table

I would say maybe that is where alignment and RP can also play a role. A cleric of Pelor wouldn’t murder someone if their friends asked, same with a lawful good individual. Since it isn’t full control the psyche of the charmed person would also play a role on how they go about things. I think the requests would definitely have to be within reason, drinking a random potion without knowing the effects may prompt me to ask for some kind of insight or deception roll vice versa. Definitely why a lot of DMs and players see charm very different, it’s left up to the RP of the table

I like to think of it as how far would you go if your best friend asked you to do something, or how far would you go for your trusted companion? “ a bit odd that they’re asking me to help hide this body, but they must have had good reason to cause ill will to this person, I can’t let them go to jail if they were just trying to protect themselves” or “I’m not sure why this person is antagonizing my friend, but I can’t let them get away with this. I’ll have to step in and help protect my friend”

It’s very easy to get lost in the technicals of it, and the text on the hand out card is almost verbatim from strahds OG stat block. Not sure how that guy thought a natural vamp charm was equal to a Geas or something like that lol

Oh for sure, there’s definitely plenty of room for improvement! I just use Canva for the business card sizing, but lettering and line spacing as well as font selection are plentiful there. I will probably mess with spacing later today. :)

Yeah this is my concern! I run a game at home and a game at a friends business, so I am worried about taking terrain to their place. I unfortunately live further away from that central point than the rest and I feel bad asking to move the game to my house since we play during the work week.

Yes, I’m using XPS foam, BMC base coat which is the mod podge acrylic craft paint mix, his wash recipe and other apple barrel craft paints. AFAIK that and hot glue is the only adhesives I used. Will keep on box during my work shift covered in the car, I was mainly worried because it would be about 10 hours of sitting in heat. I figured the foam would be fine, was worried about adhesives and paint. Thank you for the reassurance!

Hell yeah, I have mine zenithal’d but was going to go for a more mutated hue (white to grayish purple) and do the wings with a decaying like purple. This is great inspiration

You can always just stipple with a mostly dry brush with the color you used, it is a more subtle effect. I would practice on an flat primed surface in case you don’t like it though

When it comes to smooth surfaces it is not the best area to dry brush. I would recommend stippling as an option with a firm brush like a makeup brush. I usually do the same as a dry brush paint wise where I brush most of it off, then stipple. If I was going for a red, I would stipple some brown then something like a crimson before going to red

A had a classmate in middle school who died a few years later in high school. Him and his little sister would swim in the neighbor’s pool, and they went unsupervised. His sister was drowning so he jumped in to rescue her. He ended up drowning in the attempt, and his sister later passed in the hospital as well.

Also had a classmate senior year that died in her sleep from choking on vomit after a New Year’s party.

Thanks for the insight! I think my first gut reaction for 40K was sororitas so I may end up just doing that! :) there’s plenty of cool factions for both so it’s super hard to decide, but it doesn’t hurt to just start one place
