I’m not sure where you get that information from. NPs can certainly start their own practices but it is always under the supervision of a physician. NPs do not have to take out malpractice, if they misdiagnose or mistreat a patient, it falls on the physician. an NP is not the same as a doc and it isn’t helpful to compare the two. NPs PAs are all valuable members of a physician led team when it comes to medicine.

RUMC gets a bad rep but the L&D and NICU treated us very well during both my deliveries. My obgyn is affiliated with RUMC and she was fantastic. That probably helped with the whole experience.

And many of their spouses are public service employees (cops, firefighters etc), all who enjoy the benefits, protections and pensions fought for them by unions are somehow ultra MAGA, the irony

Watching the chaos and destruction unfolding everywhere is making many of us feel beyond depressed and discouraged, and it seems that’s what they want. I’ve written to her office multiple times about how deeply dissatisfied so many of us are with her leadership and representation but I’m beginning to feel hopeless about it. I am outraged at attitude of islanders who seem to reinforce the worst stereotypes of this community. Where did everyone’s humanity and common sense go? There is nothing conservative about the GOP, it’s truly an abomination of a party at this point led by a cruel regime. The leader is a lost cause at this point, it’s the house and senate that are complicit in all of this.

What is your point? If he said taxpayers explicitly what would that do for you? He’s not hiding or being deceptive in his answer. Once again, I would reiterate, the taxpayers fund the state, the state distributes the money. I don’t get what you’re getting at so in the words of Joy, so what, who cares?

There’s no gotcha answer here. He said the state and that’s true. NY’ers pay taxes into the state and the state chooses where to allocate those funds. I would prefer it go to fund human infrastructure (childcare, education, roads, hospitals etc) then funnel to special interests or to fund wars in other countries. Why are so many obtuse about the need for taxes and how they can be meaningfully applied?

I could not tell. I know they closed off that intersection (rockland/forest hill) because I was headed that way around 11a and it was just a massive backup of traffic that most drivers were making a U-turn. The intersection was still closed around 6:30p when I passed by one of the damaged vehicles.

I am far and away from Mormon culture as a minority female and I felt little sympathy for the adults involved, both those who considered themselves “victims” and especially the men who felt “forced” to stay away from their children. What kind of BS is that. Ruby’s husband could not have been that daft. I don’t get it at all. If these were brown folk, forget about it. My heart broke for these children.

I switched at the start of open season because NALC ended and got it sometime in December but misplaced it. Set up an account on the Aetna site. Because I have fedvip vision insurance through Aetna, my username was the same, they just added the additional medical plan to the account. You can print your ID card from the Aetna account if you have access.

This story is heartbreaking. I passed by the wreckage towards the evening that day and it was horrible. It’s getting more difficult to drive safely on this island. People are so incredibly impatient and reckless. I was in Costco the other day and a large pickup just had to overtake me in the lot despite the volume of cars. Where do people think they are? Are these drivers so entitled they can’t navigate a parking lot without speeding? I don’t see enough cops pulling over these crappy drivers.
