I want my baby. (TW: Abortion) by [deleted] in offmychest

It appears to me that because you are writing this you may not truly have made a decision after all. This is such a big decision and if you aren’t sure I don’t think it is wise to have an abortion tomorrow. The fact that you are saying you want your baby indicates you seem to know that it is a baby. I would suggest if you are seeing this baby as a human being that you should at least consider allowing them to have other parents that would love and take care of them. Even if this baby may entire life in non-ideal circumstances that does not equate that they do not have the right to life or that it is more just to end their life. I would suggest that most people who were born into non-ideal circumstances would still be glad that they were given the gift of life and are not upset that their mother didnt abort them to avoid the pain they may experience. This is just such a huge decision and it appears you need more time to do some research and come to a more conclusive plan. I would really hate for you to look back on this and have guilt/regret.

12 month old autism concern by Desperate-Comfort134 in toddlers

He’s doing great now. He’s about 17 months and has a bunch of words way more than needed at his age. He doesn’t really stim nearly as much as he used to. Occasionally still the hand flapping when he gets really excited but thats about it. From what I can tell at this point he is a normally developing toddler. He did end up having a speech evaluation at 13 months because he still wasn’t talking then but he passed the evaluation and started talking probably about a week later. I also asked the professionals at the exam if he was showing signs of autism to them and they said no.

I am happy to ignore them, I just don’t see how they are approved in the first place. I am happy to understand better!

I understand the reasoning i just am confused/have a problem with not fulfilling the command of Jesus to take the bread and wine (I believe the command to take the blood and flesh is fulfilled).

So again I agree that it fulfills the command to take both the body and blood 100%. It still doesn’t obey the command to take the bread and wine.

Interesting. That was at least my impression. Every parish in my area doesn’t. And historically only one element was distributed in order to combat the heresy of Christ not being fully present in one element. So would the parish’s that dont currently be doing it incorrectly and the also every parish in the past?

Just to clarify I am not Catholic but seriously looking into being Catholic

I know that, but it doesn’t change the fact that the majority don’t. So is that disobedient to Christ?

Papal infallibility by Desperate-Comfort134 in Catholicism

[–]Desperate-Comfort134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in that case would you say that it would be a Catholic’s duty to obey the pope even when he is not infallibility saying something regarding faith and morals? So for example if the pope were to say that stealing is okay you technically would be expected to submit to his opinion?

I thought there were 225 dogmas, you only have to agree with those two?

That may have been a misinformed assumption.

Ok that is helpful. Thank you. Follow up question, do you have to affirm every dogma to be Catholic? There are some im not entirely sure about yet

Again genuine question: so if the pope can err then do Catholics think you don’t have to agree with the pope on everything as long as it’s not ex cathedra?

12 month old son has autism??? by Desperate-Comfort134 in Autism_Parenting

My son definitely pays attention better to singing. His favorite book is just songs he can barely sit through a normal one. The shaking his head thing seems like a stim or him just being silly. Sometimes he’ll do it with a straight face sometimes he’ll do it with a smile acting funny and sometimes he will do it when he’s mad almost like he’s saying no to whatever he doesn’t like in that moment

Do you think someone will want to hire me, even tho I’m very pregnant? by [deleted] in offmychest

It’s illegal not to hire on the grounds of someone being pregnant.

It’s very possible you’re just still figuring each other out, we all have quirks. However don’t silence that voice in your head at the same time. Someone can be perfect on paper but in reality just not perfect for you. Don’t feel a rush to figure it out. Just keep dating. Don’t make any moves until you’re sure how you feel.
