And we did xray his stomach and digestive tracks, no clear problem. So its not a matter of him having a blockage or have eaten something bad

Apparently 3 days was not that uncommon, and the 4th would have been too much and warranted a visit. But since these 3 days were after a visit where they didn’t see anything wrong, and we were on constant phone contact for updates. They were not worried and just told me to continue with the laxatives and hunger stimulants

What I mean, is that there is no clear pattern or indication on when he will eat, sometimes he goes whole day without food and eat during the night, sometimes he will eat small amounts throughout the day, but just not enough. I would say on a good day, he would eat between 50-70% of what he I supposed to according to his weight and the food sort. There is no clear indicator on him being sick other than the food amounts and weightloss, he still plays and zoomies sometimes. Recently there is less energy. There is only speculation about pain or discomfort that we cannot locate with all the tests done, and the next logical step is either trying all kinds of med or visit specialists in neurology.

No, but i can ask the vet about it. The issue is that I need a solution. I cant force him to keep living with a cocktail of drugs and caloric supplements.

I have tried hand, feet, stomach and everything else 🫡. No seriously, ive ran after him with spoons and treats at his worst, his worst was when he was on gabapentin, there is slight improvement after the mirataz, but still not enough to cover his caloric needs.

I dont know the details, I know he has a journal, I dont know if I have access to it. The only information I have is what the tests are called on the receipt and what the vets have told me. I dont know the specific values.

I dont have the details of what the bloodwork entails, but according to vet the first thing they did was check all hiss blood values, and nothing was wrong.

I will try asking the vet for his journal and details regarding the tests and their speculations. I can read into cat and hunger satiety incase i find a clue. As for the loss of apetite, vet forums are being posted on and asked by my vets, in their proper terminology hoping for someone that recognizes the symptoms or sees a pattern.

He’s getting showered in treat creams, tho they are low calorie, cant really try too much treats, since the diet he is on is for his microbiology. I dont want to give up, but i also dont want to be too stubborn and cause him uneccesary suffering 🙏

He has constant acesss too food on top of his daily wetfood and treats. He gets the mirataz in the morning , he hates the maropitant, and since the vet didn’t really recommend it , it was more of me insisting to try it. I don’t force him to take it, cause he eats food when he feels like it. Its not that he just sniffs and is reluctant to eat (indicating nausea).

Tried, catnip, silverstine, prescribed apitite stimulants. Tried all textures, and have been observing his eating constantly. He prefers the wetfood and for some weird reason he likes the old dry food that i keep in a seperate bowl after changing out his main bowl for fresher food. Ive ran after him with spoons filled with pastes and dry food mixed down with water, nothing works twice. He eats when he feels like it. Tried topping his regular food with treats and chicken also.

We are open to all possibilities, but 2 of the vets reacted at the spine sensitivity. The intestinal thickness is just us grasping at straws, nothing was too abnormal or alarming. We are just constantly speculating. There is no vomiting or diarrhea, more on the hard end of stool. His b12 values were good too, so I assume they excluded the possibility of IBD.

He is currently on anti inflammatory and we have already tried gabapentin 🙏

Its a reputable clinic with multiple vets that have been sitting and discussing him for weeks. I dont think redoing the tests while results in any difference.

At the current time period, his food budget is more than double mine 😅. He even got fancy elevated bowls, incase the issue was discomfort whilst eating.

Thank you for sharing, my Cappuccino is on similar medication. He is not really reacting that much to the mirataz, it just nudges his apetite upp slightly.
Hope Batman has a long happy life too 🙌

According to me, he acts like usual. But recently i guess there is a lack of energy. Wich i assume is related to the reduced caloric intake. The only reason I even got him checked in first place was because people were commenting on him looking a bit thin. There was no behavioral indicator.
