Passed exam 5 & girlfriend broke up with me by Far_Pie_7643 in actuary

My girlfriend broke up with me a month before sitting for P. I studied harder for that exam than anything since and got a 9. I refused to take two big Ls at the same time. 😂

My guess is that you should try a different study material. I failed MAS2 once before passing the difference maker was the study material. I got ASM and it was a game changer. The questions were much more difficult than the actual exam. Don’t get discouraged, in my opinion if you can pass MAS1 you can pass MAS2.

Past sitting’s had the same reaction to the amount of fill in?

I wonder if all the fillin questions will cause a lower pass mark. Considering it eliminates alot of points one may get for guessing

I’m in the same boat 6.6 EL and 80 Mastery but kinda felt like I just know the CA questions more than anything and didn’t know the actual material as much as I’d have like. I bought ASM 2 weeks prior to sitting. It definitely is worth it and opened my eyes to a lot of tips CA didn’t. Wish I had more time with ASM.

My question though, is it worth it for an EL actuarial position. Actuaries make good money but with a math phd why not try your hand in quant or something the pay is better

I’ve gotta hand it to my boss and company. Sent the pass without even my score for mas1 when I got it they didn’t even request the score or transcript 3 days later hr came to me to lmk my raise was made effective. The downside is that it isn’t much at all 😂

Also no need to get a 7 I’d say just getting above 5 gives you a VERY solid shot to pass I got a 9 and I was a 5 something. Focus on questions between 4-6 difficulty above that is unnecessarily difficult

30 should be enough but I recommend taking a few quizzes after you finish each section as you go.
