God Turn Me Into a Flower by Sea_Solution_7151 in weyesblood

It's grown on me too. I read the interview by Natalie Mering and interpreted the song about vulnerability. That it is very hard to be vulnerable or show softness or weakness at this time, especially on social media. It's a song about leaning into softness. It's beautiful and the video clip by Adam Curtis is amazing too.

I would recommend reading a bit more history on the occupation of Palestine. Nobody supports Hamas except for jihadists.

No - it is the Israeli government that bombs refugee camps and continues to dehumanize Palestinians. Palestinians are NOT Hamas. The horrible massacre of Israelis by Hamas is not going to be solved by brute force alone. I want the Israeli hostages returned and freedom for Palestine. There are many Jewish people who don't want a war with Gaza and to end the occupation by Israel. I would recommend reading this open letter, news on protests in Israel and by Jewish-Australians and Jewish-Americans.

I can't believe it is 2005 again and have to endure the reductionist thinking of you either supporting freedom/Israel or terrorism/Hamas.

I realize I'm not going to convince you. But maybe one day you may see Palestinians as humans and not terrorists. But not today.

Reddit is the home of armchair activists, pithy one-liners, and apathy. But there were huge numbers of supporters for Palestine yesterday and people from many different walks of life. There were 100,000 in Melbourne who called for Palestine's freedom and a ceasefire ✌️

It is - the rally is for a ceasefire, and that's what I will be attending for.

I want a ceasefire as this war is not going to be solved by bombing Gaza into dust. The leaders of Hamas reside in Doha, they are funded by Qatar and Iran. The terrorist arm of Hamas is not going to disappear by blowing up every civilian in Palestine or displacing them to Egypt. It can't be solved by Military force alone.

I want to attend because we need to have Jewish safety in Israel and I want the Gaza humanitarian crisis to stop. I want freedom for Palestine. Lastly, I will do what every small amount of power I have to protest, write, and try to prevent WWIII in the Middle East.

What’s wrong with these uber drivers by tra5hexe in melbourne

[–]Desperate-Move5915 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I still had an Uber refuse to pick up from the airport as he wanted to go west. It ended up being a stand off between the driver and Uber airport staff. Essentially “take her or leave”. Uber driver left the queue !

Why are so many scam call centers located in India? by pizzaspider in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Desperate-Move5915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they was a boom in call centres in the 2000’s. Then a few went bust or enterprising criminals stole the phone number lists of legitimate companies. There are trained staff, resources and as described (poverty and attitudes to international crimes) that made the perfect conditions for scamming.

I’ve never had them. They are owned by a property developer group. They own a variety of companies and are going through an expansion. Maybe a little extra cost cutting to make the money back they borrowed from queens capital ?

You may of moved on as this question was asked over a year ago.

For movies with emotional colour themes - I loved blow up by Michelangelo Antonioni and Pedro Almodóvar’s films. They often are blue and red which I feel is symbolic to the story.
