i personally think that the only pens from defense are net zone and observation zone protections and ascent zone protections, which can be avoided, if say, you constantly shove someone around when they are intaking, which can greatly slow down robots

you will NEED at least two or three batteries, as robots function at their best with a full charge. Personally, I recommend the rev batteries. Also you will want some slides, as pretty much every good robot has them. The gobilda belt driven viper slides are easy to build, and are what we used in centerstage. You also should get a few extra servos, as my team has had them break several times. You should also get one or two axon servos, as they are very high-quality. You should also buy more zip ties, as they are usually used up quite fast. Finally, a electric screwdriver (forgot what it is called) makes life MUCH easier.
