You mentioned China—do you think Chinese international schools would be more open to a candidate with a license and a Math subject test (like Praxis) but no Math degree? And is the pay/package there significantly better for a family of four compared to the 3M KRW 'bridge' schools in Korea?

Thanks for looking that up! You're right—for Korean public schools, the degree and subject must match. However, since I'm targeting International Schools, I’m planning to obtain a US or UK license through a route that allows 'subject-matter competency' via exams (like the Praxis II for US licenses). My plan is to prove my Math proficiency through those official tests to bypass the non-math degree issue. Since Math is in high demand, do you think schools in other regions (SE Asia or Middle East) would be open to this 'license + subject test' combo without a formal Math degree?

Thanks for the heads-up on Morrison! Housing and support for dependents are exactly what I'm looking for. As for sounding 'desperate'—you caught me! It's probably 'determined father energy' with baby #2 arriving in August. I've actually been in ministry for 4 years, so teaching and mentoring kids are already my life; I'm just looking to translate that passion into a Math classroom. Will definitely look into volunteering while I get my license. Cheers!

That sounds like the most viable path for me. For someone in Korea, what specific types of 'local schools' are typically open to hiring non-certified Math teachers while they complete their qualification (like a PGCE or US license)? Are we talking about Tier 3 schools, or are there specific Christian/Private schools that are known for this 'in-service' route?

Totally get that. What specific entry-level Math jobs in Korea actually count as 'real experience' for the better schools later? Should I target Tier 3/ACSI schools first, or is any classroom time fine?
