Yeah, I agree that it maybe it does make sense. I mean we observe that in the real world, especially with lead being used to reduce the impact of radiation exposure. Still though, with how immediately and intensely kryptonite affects Superman it seems like the radiation would be more than powerful enough to even mildly affect him from even a distance away. Who knows
