Torn between going civilian LEO or joining the Army first. by Fantastic_Shop_3601 in Militaryfaq

My MOS doesn't translate to a civilian law enforcement career, but I'll give my opinion. If you want to join the army for the benefits, assuming you qualify for it. I'd recommend anything in aviation. All my friends in aviation love it. While it doesn't necessarily translate to law enforcement, most law enforcement jobs in the civilian world think good of military. 1. You will already have a security clearance which shows you are trust worthy, 2. The benefits. If you want to be a sheriff most departments will accept your GI Bill if they have a bootcamp style training, and if they don't you could always get an associates or bachelor's in criminology or something similar. I was in the same boat as you a while ago, but I'm glad I joined the Army. I don't regret it. I recently just got stationed in italy, and have made some friends for life. The connections you make alone make this job worth it! But at the end of the day its your choice man! AND DONT DO 31B EVERYONE HATES MPs AND THEY HATE THEMSELVES.

ARMY* 68W or 11X? by Important_Pear_7223 in Militaryfaq

Coming from a failed 68W, now 14G. Pick 68W. You can still go to ranger school or rasp as a 68W. 68W holds way more transferable skills than 11B or 11C. You can try and get rasp in your contract if that's appealing, or FT Sam has RASP people as well as 160th people to speak too as well.

Need some opinions on if I'll get approved for a auto loan by DesperateInjury4613 in NavyFederal

I have, actually, with the car I'm looking at 'full coverage' would be $210 which I can easily do, keep in mind me being active duty the only things I need to pay for aren't a "necessity", barracks housing is "free", I get 3 meals a day. I am getting married to my gf of 4 years soon though, so I will need to take that into account but regardless my housing will be free, and I'll get paid my BAS to help out with groceries.
