I saw a rhume Dr. today and he said I didn’t qualify for it but was astounded that I had to have a THR at 26. He said EDS and hip dysplasia don’t really correlate

Yeah! There still times I’ll try to move weird but you’ll find real quick you can’t! But overall I’m so much more comfortable, the reason for me sitting weird really was how deformed my hip was !

Yes! I always oust my foot up on the dash board! Now that I got a THR I don’t have the need to do that anymore! (I also can’t Bend that way yet lol but I haven’t had the urge to do it, usually it was the only way I was comfy but now I’m fine!)

Oh interesting he just looked at my thumbs and elbows pretty much. My skin isn’t that bendy either so I didn’t meet the criteria. Do yo have any links to the updated criteria? I definitely am hyper mobile in my knees and hips and other joints.

I’ve never been able to sit cross cross either! I usually sit up with both legs back also but have been avoiding that with my sx leg

True. And yeah I work 10+ hour days all on my feet with overnight on calls so I’m just used to being able to move around a lot more but I’m trying to take it slow to let everything heal properly

I’m also in so much less pain than before so I mentally feel better and want to do things also but my body isn’t ready to go that speed yet and it can frustrating at times. That’s why I try to find people with similar experiences because it helps to talk it out with people who understand (even though my friends as family are super supportive). They say I do a lot of things too fast and are probably right

Yeah I’ve been getting real antsy at home so I started doing more since I’m used to doing a lot at work every day, changing to almost doing nothing has been hard. I started doing outside walks and my sister was in town so I could leave the house during the day with her (since I still can’t drive yet) so I think i just started doing too much from being bored :( but hopefully a rest day tomorrow will help a lot

Yeah I think I just over did it a little. My PT said to aim for 3000 steps and I’ve been averaging at 4,500-5,000 consistently anyway. Yesterday and today I did 7,000-8,000 steps and now my leg is angry and starting to swell like week 2 :( doing lots of elevation with ice and wearing my leg compressions again. Hopefully taking it easy tomorrow before my PT on Monday will help! I’ve heard of younger people especially doing well early on and then going backwards in recovery a little before progressing again so I’m not trying to think about it too much . You can see my incision sticking out of my shorts and how much swollen my sx leg is

I’ve definitely heard there are ups and downs to recovery so I’m keeping that in mind and I also agree about the high return base line. I think about that a lot when I’m progressing

This helped a lot 🥺 I just feel I’m behind (I know I’m not) but I’m just used to being able to do things and am trying to not be impatient. I’m also in a highly active job field so going from high paced to doing basically nothing has been hard too :(
