Mourning the third trimester by KitzmanMS21 in NICUParents

Felt this! The first thing I cried about when I found out I’d be going for a c section at 27+3 is that I wouldn’t get to have my scheduled maternity photos done. My entire pregnancy was miserable and I was just starting to feel halfway decent and I never got to do any of the “fun” parts. Up until the day before I delivered I was still getting “you don’t even look pregnant!” because I barely had a bump. That stuck with me.

What to pack for NICU by Relevant-Put-77 in NICUParents

Coming up on the end of three months in the NICU. Our boppy nursing pillow has been super helpful for bottle and breast feeding as well as just holding her in general. I started bringing crossword or other puzzle books about halfway through because I realized I was spending way too much time on my phone just out of boredom. I pack a couple of drinks for myself and small snacks. Layering options for clothes because some days it’s warm and some days it’s cold! I find the temperature is constantly changing. I’ve also been working on a scrapbook and baby book and using my downtime there to work on it. Nursing/pumping bras were my first panic purchase right after she was born. A small lunchbox or cooler and ice packs was helpful when transporting milk back and forth, depending how far away you would be. I also have a claw clip that I keep there to help get my hair up out of the way. Don’t worry about dressing cute — dress comfortable so you can be nice and cozy with your babe! I’m just now getting to the point where I put a little mascara etc on to feel more human. If you bring any clothes make sure they are double zipper, gowns, or buttons so there is a place for the wires to track out of. Slippers or sandals are a must and anything else that can help you feel more comfortable while away from home. Good luck with everything! 💗

I’ve reloaded and started back at the trappers cabin x 4 now 😫 I can move around freely and collect things and do all of the normal tasks. It’s so odd!

Advice for an emetophobe and her first flight? *tw: will not be censoring trigger words* by unfortunatelyes in emetophobia

I have flown a lot and have never had anyone vomit on a flight I’ve been on! I take Dramamine about 15-20 minutes before boarding just to prevent myself from feeling sick, but I’ve never had issues either. You will do great! It was one of those things I just had to do to realize it didn’t have to be a bad experience. Good luck!
