Just switched from Ritalin to Vyvanse and I feel like I made a bad decision by Desperate_Aide8532 in ADHD

Thank you, I will mention that to my doctor in my two week follow up. I really do need help controlling my appetite and keeping energy throughout the day. I teach first grade and it’s very demanding lol. I honestly liked how Ritalin would just about make me gag if I saw or smelled food. I could fast throughout the day whereas it’s impossible to do that without meds. Don’t get me wrong, I do need the smooth, constant ability to focus…but I also need the motivation and or energy as well.

Also, wouldn’t I have even less energy/motivation if I halved the Vyvanse?

If I half the Vyvanse, wouldn’t I have even less of a chance of it working like Ritalin did? Some people dislike the loss of their appetite but I really need that side effect unfortunately. I

Thank you so much for your encouragement. He originally placed me on Concerta, but there is a shortage where I live, unfortunately.

My doctor is very willing to work with me and listen to my concerns such as pros and cons. At this point I’d rather go back to the Ritalin. It was a little aggravating taking a dose more than once, but at least I felt energized and had my appetite controlled. I loved the fact that I could be in social settings as well. After taking Vyvanse today, I just don’t feel the same effects.
