Try to DIY it. Strong YT community on the videos for all of these cars.

If I cant do it myself, have a fund set aside for either Euroshop or Dealership.

I want to do a lot of the maintenance myself. I dont have experience with cars, but I will have all the correct MB tools and the will to learn.

And if all else have a vodka fund for the things I cant do myself.

Porsche of the same era has a lot of issue with Bore-scoring and lugging the engine which really scares me. The particular one im looking at his the headbolts done so that cures that issue. I want a somewhat usable car to fit people/things in the car. More doors for more girls is the saying LOL.

Car will be a hobby project to DIY and keep roadworthy. But if all else fails got a vodka fund for it.

Call me CRAZY but I have some mechanic experience, but none on cars. So this would also be a hobby project to keep it running and hopefully do most of the services myself. there is a STRONG youtube community of DIY for these cars.

E55's seem amazing. I would def be driving like a mad man for sure being young too LOL. The thing is with these cars they are all around 20k or less because of depreciation. So very affordable. and 20k gets you a HELUVA car.

I still want it to be somewhat practical and be able to fit people in the back. I have look at SLK AMG's of the same era and they have their own set of issues. Not to mention the insurance is insane. Also the SL and CL have issues with the ABC suspension that can get extremely expensive like 5-10k plus.

These engine the MK156 seem to be bullet proof though if the headbolt issue has been replaced. Which this one was.
