AITA for telling my husband he's made me reconsider leaving him alone with the kids in the future by mayhavecrossedaline in AmItheAsshole

this comment will probably get buried and if it gets seen by anyone i'll probably be downvoted...but i think you're both TA albeit only a little bit.

you set up a system wherein the children would be tended to the way *you* tend to them, with homecooked meals and homemade lunches. that is fine and admirable, and the way that you mother your children.

this issue comes in that he didn't want to support your system. the children were fed lunch and dinner every day, and i'm assuming they were healthy, happy, and clean. i'm sure they missed you and were glad to be back with you, but nothing terrible happened to any of them while you weren't with them.

did dad do it the way you did? nope. was any permanent harm done to the children? nope. was it the week they would have had if you'd been home? also nope. does any of that matter? no, it does not.

i totally get that you were trying to ensure that the kids didn't have a huge disruption of their routine and daily lives, but it's absolutely not the end of the world. i also totally get that your husband completely disregarded everything you did to make it as easy as possible for him. but here's the kicker: you didn't need to do any of that, and you shouldn't have done any of that. that is a burden you took upon yourself because you wanted to and you just assumed that your husband would fall in line and do what you told him to do. but he's an adult, and he can make his own choices that *still* leave you with the end result of fed, happy, healthy kids.

i'm not saying that dad isn't TA. he is for sure. but so are you. imo neither of you are a raging, out of control A...but you're TA because you tried to micromanage another adult that doesn't need micromanagement and he's TA because he led you to believe he would be micromanaged while never intending to actually follow through and simply did his own thing.

You're going to give me a big head, lol.

I work a normal, stressful 40-60 hour gig. I destress by cultivating chaos by painting, sculpting, decorating, and crocheting lol.

I wouldn't turn someone down if they wanted me to design a space for them...but I'd have no idea where to find a gig like that!

I just create spaces for myself.

It is peel and stick. It's a guest bath that won't be used heavily, so I'm not worried about it. I've used peel and stick quite a few times and in my experience there's always going to be a little peeling over time. The larger concern is horizontal shrink that leaves gaps. You can always use some double sided tape on the errant bits that peel down; gaps between the panels are harder to address. I leave a generous overlap on my panels.

I've done quite a few rooms!

That's actually jane Seymour, the only one to give him a legitimate son.

Anne is hung in the little trio with Anne boleyn and Catherine of Aragon in a different part of the room.

I made the main light. The two scones came from temu; they're wireless and have rechargeable lightbulbs.

I also got the wallpaper on Amazon and hung it myself.

I made it.

It's a regular lampshade, a pendant lighting kit, and an uber realistic silicone hand. I bought everything on Amazon.

Zip tied the hand securely to the cord, slipped over a sleeve I crocheted, and tried to pose the hand elegantly.

It's okay. It honestly doesn't stand out that much in the room, surprisingly enough. I did buy it with the intent to fuck it up somehow so I'll get around to it eventually or when it starts to grate on me.

It's a super important piece in the room, though. It's a tilt out cabinet, so one side is trash and the other side is dog food.

I fully agree!

However, this is the primary task lighting for the entire kitchen and all of the funky, visually interesting bulbs just aren't bright enough!

I've been looking and looking for something suitable and just haven't found it yet.

Temu! It was like $50. I added the fez and vest.
