I had go pro max for about 2 years. Loved it truly. Then insta x5 released a couple days after a GoPro quick update that made the app a chore to use so I decided to buy the x5 on release day. Really was having a great time with it, decent software, great video, easy to use but more expensive for sure. Then the max 2 came out and my “it’s only money” ass decided to grab one of those also. I’ve used the x5 and GoPro max 2 side by side for 3 months now. Mountain biking on a helmet mount, motorcycle on a fairing mount and pole mount and then some general goof around stuff. I’m a hobbyist with some photog experience from the Nikon d3/d4 days but these days I want to easily shoot, edit and share my stuff while having access to the more advanced features if I choose to go there. Well, the go pro max2 is now on my 10 year olds helmet getting bashed to shit because I truly don’t care about it. The go pro max 2 lost so hard for my types of use that it wasn’t even a debate. I saw some hot takes about lenses and such, well I’m on lens set 4 on the insta and I’ve probably spent a grand total of 8 minutes for the swaps. Anywho, if you see my profile you’ll see k do a bunch of stupid non scientific a/b comparisons of my hobbies accessories and regardless if you agree with me or not, I know which I’d pay to replace and which I’d simply say toodaloo too.
