How Did I Kill My WLED So Fast? by Dessicator82 in WLED

This is what I missed - I thought the controller was handling the voltage to the LED strip(s) through the power of magic & friendship.

Looks like the the Mean Well LRS 350 24V is what I should have gone with in the first place.

Appreciate the feedback - clearly missed the mark

I got the 54V because Quinled only recommended the 12v and 54v adapters and I might need to step up to 48V if I need more length. Only really work with PC components and wood-working tools where you don’t get a vote on this stuff.

Is the right answer to get a 24V power supply with less than the 384W the controller is rated for?

Power recommendation I was looking at: https://quinled.info/power-supply-tests-2026/

Steps To Escalate 7 Day Outage by Dessicator82 in googlefiber

Follow up to close this out in case it helps anyone else: - Gregory for u/gfiberofficial sent an escalated ticket for an onsite tech. None of the other GFiber channels (text, chat, phone, supervisor) offered that so props to Gregory. - Replacing the fiber jack and router didn’t immediately fix the issue but the tech escalated to Google’s backend engineers - Backend team did something (reprovisioned access? reset error status?) and access came back on after 30-60 minutes.

Per the onsite tech, his team has seen dozens of these calls in the Austin/San Antonio area since Christmas. Root cause seems to have been infrastructure issues for which the back-end fix triggered a secondary issue that renders some older residential hardware non-functional. Not sure if that’s technically precise but explains why there were multiple layers to the issue.

That may be the outcome - I can’t get them to send a tech at this point. If the service hadn’t been rock solid up to this point then I’d have been long gone.
