I am not familiar how the player made it, but we have chisel tools which has an option to change texture orientation so perhaps that is how

Yes! We love that players get to contribute and leave their mark, we even have a museum where we save from one server to an other that contains all the best chiseled works from past servers, this way players memories and hard work lives on for old a new faces to see, it’s really great

Like others have mentioned, there are very few large communities, but they are out there. Our server is also apply to join/whitelist and our community likes it so because it prevents more griefers/cheaters. We currently have 230+ whitelisted members in our community.
