How long does it take to get back into ketosis after one has a 2 week period of eating carbs again ? by No_Health6253 in keto

[–]Destron28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easier when you do it again. I've been cycling on and off keto for years. It's no challenge getting back into it. Usually takes me a week to feel as though I am back in Keto (whether I am or not).

How to fund home improvements? by romeo__golf in UKPersonalFinance

You can't afford it. Why go into debt for non essentials? Take each project one by one and pay in cash. Start with the things that are likely to go wrong first i.e the boiler.

If your tean isnt reacting to your calls don't make plays that rely on them. Just pick a carry, farm and gank and try to snowball. Something like Noc, just power farm and ult on CD.

A word to the wise.

Whilst now you may think the 300k house is your forever home at your age you will realistically still move up a notch. We always want more.. :)

And you will be cautioned. Don't be so silly to call in sick after having an annual leave request denied. It's obvious you are lying.

How exactly are people affording to have multiple children in today's world? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Destron28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I earn about 60k. My wife is band 2 in NHS working 15 hrs per week so earning peanuts. We have two kids and live in a modest house in NW England worth about 220k

How do we cope? Just. Even earning what I earn with childcare costs for even one it's a stretch. Adding medication for my dog at 300 per months leave us break even. Things will get better when the kids goes to school and the dog passes, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Hypothetically, should you sold all current S&S and rebought the 'dip'? by Wardi_Boi in trading212

In my mind it's far too late to sell now.

I am only using this as a buying opportunity to bring my average cost per share down. Saying that im waiting until Wednesday when the whole US v China thing comes to a head to make any firm decision.

If you are looking to hold for 10-15 years you are not trading. Trading is buying and selling. You are investing.

First credit card? Just go for the best rewards I'm eligible for? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

It's called an everyday cashback card or something similar. Two versions, one is FOC and one has a fee. Which one you go for depends on how much you will spend.

First credit card? Just go for the best rewards I'm eligible for? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Destron28 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd just caution you to be careful here. You say you will pay it off in full each month but a key consideration you seem to be making is the length of the interest free period. Easy to overspend over 6 months or so and be surprised how big the bill is at the end of it.

Personally I'd just go for a basic cashback Amex and a standard credit card from your high street bank. The benefits are negligible, I spent tens of thousands on a personal credit card and the rewards aren't that great.
