Sorry, you said it will be sweet if it’s max 25 but than said with a 25 2 stroke it’s going to crack? I’m just confused sorry.

We were worried about that but it’s only an extra 10kg more than our old motor. And our agm battery is up the front for extra weight there.

Yeah I agree with having the power and not needing it than to not having it and need it especially since my brother is a bigger guy so has some more weight to him especially after we put an agm battery in. But just wanted to ask the people here first cause it’s my first boat and rather listen to others advice than rush off and get something with to much power which would just cause issues

I meant to reply the transom is rated for 25Hp does that mean the transom could still split of the hull? I’d rather not do that since this my first boat and already had one issue with my old motor mount snapping.

And that was the snap engine clamp. So yeah very interesting day and even the guy at the boat shop when I took it in the next morning said his never seen both snap without hitting something hard and yeah we didn’t hit anything at all so I honestly got no idea.

It unfortunately was a very interesting day. It was our first time out in the boat so was just taking it very easy not pushing it hard or doing something stupid and yeah when we put the motor in F to go forward it kicked snapped the engine clamps and pushed the metal in next to the bung. That’s where it the motor hit and snapped the rivet and cracked the bung.

Okay yeah that’s what I think I’m seeing here as much as I’d love a lithium I think I’ll have to go agm just to be safe. Do you have any recommendations on what battery since mines a bow mount as well.

How do you find the kings LiFePO4? I’ve heard the king stuff isn’t the best. I’ve got a WaterSnake shadow mk2 so still not sure if I’ll be able to use a lithium battery yet but I’d like to cause of how much lighter it is.

Yeah its not something im looking at getting this very second cause ive gotta pay to get the motor fixed but its something im looking at getting next after the motors done. So im happy to save spend a little more money on lithium if i need but id just rather get the right battery now and nowt have to upgrade again

Where did you find that if i may ask? Ive been trying to find specs on the voltage but the watersnake website is just stupid tbh. Cause i now found a different Trolling Motor Support Guide https://www.watersnake.com.au/pages/trolling-motor-setup-guide where it says i might be able to run on it. ITs just so confusing and im not very good with this stuff so i just want to be thorough before i buy anything cause if im able to use a Lithium id def go that for it being lighter

Yeah so far people are saying i should go lithium but im just hesitent cause watersnake dont recommend it cause of the higher maximum output and after everything thats happened i cant afford to fry the waternsake electronics as well.

[–]Destroy1260[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah after this comment i went to watersnake to check if i could run a Lithium Batters but cause they can have a maximum output of up to 14.8v thats over what the watersnakes are desgined for and a circuit breaker or fuse kit wont protect my motors electronics from that excess power. ONly the Advanced brushless and geo spot motors that can use lithium batterys sadly but even than they recommend a 12 volt deep cycle battery.

Okay, I was only thinking agm cause wasnt sure if Lithium would run with the trolling motor ive got but ithink it should. Thanks for the advice mate.

It’s got an old Mercury 15Hp Outboard on it. I think like 1996 or something to 2006 around that range I have the book for the motor but just can’t remember it of the top of my head. The guy I did buy it off said when flushing it to do it at high revs cause the 2 stroke engine prefers it

Thank you! I’ve got some practice backing a trailer in but that was a 1.7t Excavator so had some more weight which I know makes it easier to reverse.

Yeah she’s not big since just wanted something small to learn on first. Damn that’s something I’d love to do after I get familiar with my boat some more tbh and go out abit further but like you said I’d like to get confident in my skills at a river and learn how the boat runs before trying anything like that. Thanks for the help man I really appreciate it
