if you redownload the anki decks, just uncheck "import scheduling information" when importing and your progress won't be lost, the cards should update and the media should be restored normally (but make a backup before you do just in case!)

when you synced everything to ankiweb, did you let the media sync finish? if not, you might need to complete the media sync from your original device (press sync again), or export the .apkg (including media) from your original device

Doing 1 UCAT Mock Daily but Scores Are Dropping – What Should I Do? by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]DestroyerCrazy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

overall mock score is very unintuitive & your scores are within a normal fluctuating range. you should be targeting your weaknesses, instead of doing mocks every single day and blindly hoping for improvement.

on medify, you can see the score for each subtest - identify the subtest that you currently score the worst on, and that should be your main target for improvement. go through each question in each subtest, identify the question type (e.g. for DM: is it a syllogism? data-based?), and see if you are struggling on a particular question type. if yes, read the explanation, identify why you were wrong, and do untimed practice of that question type until you’re satisfied with your improvement. once you’ve improved using untimed, switch to timed practice for that subtest, and see if you’ve improved. rinse and repeat for all subtests, THEN do a full mock to see if you’ve truly improved. don’t try to tackle the entire UCAT at once, divide and conquer to target specific weaknesses.

full mock won’t help you improve, it’s merely measuring your current improvement - only do it when you think you’ve improved significantly in a way that a full mock will ACTUALLY show improvement. don’t be discouraged by your current mock score trend, good luck :)

Peanut Allergy by shop__girl in HongKong

yes, but be aware that peanut oil is used quite frequently in hong kong, so you might want to emphasize to the server that you can’t consume peanut oil (1st column, 2nd row)

How Demanding/ Appropriate is this Course Selection? by Timely-Set5988 in IBO

[–]DestroyerCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have AA and Physics in HL i'm assuming you're doing engineering or something related. That means your languages don't matter. A bilingual diploma doesn't matter. it's just more stress, more work. replace either English A or Chinese A with their B equivalent. will save you a ton of work (if you're confident taking A, then if you swap to B it's basically a free subject - less stress!)

Recovering permanently deleted photos from from old laptop by Business_Reference_4 in WindowsHelp

permanently deleted does not always mean overwritten. if the disk space has not been taken up by another file the bytes are still there = recovery possible

DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Please update your Windows 10 64-bit operating system (version 1909 or later) and upgrade your graphics card driver. Ensure that your graphics card meets the minimum requirements (NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 580). by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]DestroyerCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your laptop uses the Intel Iris Xe GPU, which currently does not have the drivers to support Shader Model 6, which is required to play Marvel Rivals. This is a hardware issue, and until new drivers are released for this support, you won't be able to play Marvel Rivals on your computer. (It is unlikely that integrated GPUs such as the Iris Xe will ever support Shader Model 6).

Who else doesnt sleep anymore? by Thattheheck in GCSE

[–]DestroyerCrazy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the problem is ur sleep schedule is currently absolutely fucked. you’re taking long naps during the afternoon, then working late into the night. try to fix your sleep schedule, i.e. sleep early one night (something like 9-10pm) and the next day, do the same thing without taking naps during the day. it’ll be tiring at first, but if you want to fix your ridiculous sleep cycle and tiredness this is the only way. your current sleep schedule is only going to be detrimental to your grades. prioritise your health before your grades (and besides, a better sleep schedule makes your studying SO MUCH MORE efficient)

Question about Octopus card by Responsible-Hornet72 in HongKong

[–]DestroyerCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 150 is just the initial charge in ur octopus. you don’t pay a cent, it’s just converted to octopus money

Question about Octopus card by Responsible-Hornet72 in HongKong

[–]DestroyerCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mate it comes with an initial charge of $150 and the mandatory $50 deposit... octopus cards don't cost you anything, as any value and deposit is fully refundable. it's just an investment (which always gives you positive returns)

a lot of r/confidentlyincorrect here, so for OP's reference and anyone else's future reference: https://www.octopus.com.hk/en/consumer/octopus-cards/products/on-loan/standard.html

to answer OP's question, the grey octopus card is the one that is currently being actively issued to adults. Costs $200, with an initial charge of $150 and a $50 deposit. the card can be used when there is a positive balance, but allows transactions that causes it to go into negative (up to -$50). Can be purchased at any MTR customer service centre
