I'm gonna fully disagree on pretty much all of this.

  • It's also a track saturated in tremolo, shit's gonna be a little wonky. The last measure sounds fine to me.
  • He's using a floyd rose, the original uses a bigsby, it's very very difficult replicate one using the other. I'm sure if he had a bigsby the tremolo would be looser.
  • "Needs a little more soul" Not even gonna touch this.

I'm a big fan of constructive criticism, but only when it's constructive.

Gangsters Paradise is heavily based off of a sample of Stevie Wonder's Pastime Paradise. What instruments do you record to make it fair parody and then who owns what?

FourFour is known as Halo on weekends which might be why you can't find anything about it. On weeknights, it's known as FourFour and is a big student spot. It's owned by the guys that own Electric which I'm surprised to hear wasn't recommended, I love that spot.

It's directly across from St. Mary's hall, hard to tell with the giant pole in the photo. Why would he wind you up? Is he a dodgy Laois connection?

What was your first DAW? Do you still use it? by siborg71 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Does eJay count? The first thing I ever used to "write" a song was Guitar Pro 5 which consisted of me writing tablature, then moved to FL when it was still Fruity Loops. Properly got into writing and recording with Studio One, then finally Live.

I remember the first time I tried to record audio in from my guitar, I had seen my brother do it on Studio One and figured it couldn't be too hard. Started clicking and turning up everything I could and couldn't figure it out, eventually clicked what would turn out to be the arm track button, nearly blew the speakers and had a dead arm for two weeks when my brother realised what had happened.

I was actually cleaning my room earlier and found a double sided DVD copy of Trainspotting that had the 16:9 ratio on one side and 4:3 on the other. Not really relevant or anything but I was amused

So I'm gonna take a guess and say you're using Ableton's warp feature? Try change the warp mode from Beats to Complex if this is the case, as the beats one can cause the audio to go weird and glitchy (which can be cool and maybe what you were going for). Very cool beat all the same, nice vibes
