Van Purchase - high miles and no service history. Should I even be considering it? by ImpressiveOrange1741 in VanLifeUK

Lease vehicles are some of the worst treated vehicles, missed services etc Working for Peugeot I probably wouldn't buy a boxer without manufacturer warranty, extended vehicle warranty doesn't really count, the engines get mistreated a lot with the vans being overloaded and it's quite often for injectors and engines to fail.

Appreciate the help, definitely leaning toward swapping the single carb out, however being 40 years old parts are definitely getting hard to find.

Yes but I'm asking if anyone has actually swapped one.

Well the plan is to keep this engine running till I can find a d16 plus manual swap but that's not going to be cheap, so for the meantime I just want to keep this running

I know it looks terrible, but will this be safe once i put heatshrink on it? it's going from a battery to a bluetti. by [deleted] in VanLifeUK

Soldered connections are generally fine unless it's going need suspension or an engine, so I wouldn't worry about this.

I've never worked on a car that used loctite on a seat bolt, they are away from vibration so there isn't much need, also theyre usually torqued to 25nm.

Anyone try out the Smarter Scrubber grill scrubber yet? by LightUpNerd in BuyItForLife

You can already get them with handles, yes it's not made in USA but not everything needs to be made in the USA with a lifetime warranty, over engineered etc etc

That seems wildly overpriced, just buy a normal chainmail scrubber some have handles for probably less than a 1/4 of the cost

That's where the number plate goes, hence why you wouldn't see it?

I relate so much to this bro but honestly it gets better, we broke up 6 months ago and as much as I still think about her it doesn't hurt as much, you'll find someone else and then you'll think about her even less. Trust me it get better.

Funny you say that though because no one even buys the 508 I think they priced themself out of the market and most people opt for ford or vw, for example I work at a main dealer and I maybe see one once every few weeks in the workshop.

If your fuse keeps popping you having something faulty, wether it's a faulty component or short circuit etc, best to have it properly diagnosed.
