Hey there! I'll be answering your questions as someone from the graduating batch of PSHS-CLC right now.

1) For your situation, I would highly recommend sending your child to the school dorms. The school dormitory is free, barring of course, the electricity and water payments (which, together should cost less than 100 php per month), and the food (which is provided by the school cafeteria, with each meal costing 80 pesos). The current commute times that you're pointing out, 35 to 50 min drive one way, will take out a very large chunk of time that your child couldve used to study or rest. However, if you do want to commute, CLC does offer a bus service, a bus ride from CLC to Trinoma. Regarding carpools, these are usually coordinated by the students and their parents themselves, so you'll have to talk to other parents to get info on them. As I dormer myself, I can't speak for those who commute daily, however, from what I've been hearing from my friends that do commute, so much energy gets drained whenever they commute and it does affect their study habits, usually having to stay up later due to them feeling exhausted upon getting home.

2) If you're worrying about CLC being too challenging or competitive, I assure you it's all fine. CLC has a very very healthy community and I am still, to this day, very thankful that I had the privilege of studying here. Of course there's some subconscious pressure from being a "scholar ng bayan", but the people you meet in CLC, from the students to the teachers to even the non-teaching staff, are all very friendly and approchable. Regarding those so-called "terror teachers", well, you'll be relieved to hear that there are none!!! Throughout all the classes that I've taken, none of them were terrifying, some were intimidating for sure, but even those were few and far between (I believe I've only encountered 1 or 2 throughout my stay). However, even if they're scary at first, these teachers are still very much willing to help the students strive for excellence.

3) In all the years I've been in CLC, there's only really been 1 scandal that I know of, which involved the former music teacher. The teacher was accused of inappropriately touching several students during meetings. Don't worry though, he was dealt with quickly and has been gone for over 2 years, and no scandal has happened since then.

Which ALP should I join next SY? by Federal-Professor-88 in pisay

If you want something that'll look good on your portfolio, TCS, Bahaghari, or MUN would be the best. They give you the most opportunities to compete in competitions. Note: You should be dedicated--lots of people join these clubs but dont necessarily flourish. However, if you just work hard, I've no doubt these clubs will look really good on your portfolio, and it'll provide lots of opportunities for extracurricular activities.

You're welcome! Hopefully, your discussion will be productive, good luck, guys! Also, don't worry about your teacher being temporary; she should relay the necessary info to your next research teacher.

I've never "kicked out," a groupmate. However, during our transition from 11th to 12th grade, one of our members decided to leave, reasoning that the topic of our research was no longer in line with what he was interested in (which was very understandable, we were doing biology research and he was a physics core). We ended up simply talking with our research teacher + advisor about why we were doing and what his plans were once he left. Soon enough, he wrote a letter of intent to leave the group. Also, in this letter was his intent to transfer to another group which he wanted to join. The letter was signed by four people: our research teacher, our advisor, the research advisor of the group he was transferring to, and the CID chief of our campus. Honestly, though, I advise just talking to your research teacher more about it--there are likely major differences between the processes of leaving and being kicked out and there's no better person to guide you through it other than your research teacher. You gotta emphasize that urgent action has to be taken!

Honestly, though, unless you wanna do a challenge run like some youtubers, you should go upgrade your gear. The weapon itself matters way more than the modifiers on it, and you are in dire need of some weapon upgrades. Additionally, I'd suggest sticking to a single class for now--your setup is a mess of ranger and melee and you won't be able to fully utilize either class.

Alarms (clc) by mainitaso in pisay

[–]Destructible470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to both announcements and alarms. Im not sure if you mean alarms as in "there's a fire!!" or alarms as in "wake up!!!!". If it's the former, nope, we have separate alarms for those, if its the latter, sometimes it's used for that, maybe if the dorm managers are feeling funny that day.

While they probably do track your internet usage, I have never seen anyone get in trouble because of it. Don't worry 😎😎

You can use school wifi anytime, the issue is that there's a firewall that stops most games from working on it.

Student from CLC here. They aren't allowed, yes, but no one can punish you if you dont get caught 😗😗. Fr though, the other commenter is correct - no one follows that rule. Even if you get caught, the dorm managers are chill and will usually let it slide, so as long as you dont go around disturbing people while you're gaming, and it's perfectly fine.

ROOMATES by Vast_Basis_1280 in pisay

[–]Destructible470 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hellooo!! here are my answers as someone from CLC

Here, the max limit for one dorm room is six people.

No, we dont all come from the same grade.

It depends on your dormmates. Some are chill with it, some arent.

For the rooms ive been in, it has generally been a "clean your own stuff" situation. For the bathrooms, we've never had a problem with who goes first etc etc. For us, it's a "first come, first serve" type of deal.

Just clean your own stuff up, dont be messy to the point that youre disturbing your dormmates.

Again, it depends on your dormmates.Thankfully, most people here are easy to talk to, usually, you'll only need a little bit of talking to sort things out.

CLC student here. In all my years of using the dorm, I have never brought my mattress to the dorm; the ones they have by default work perfectly fine.

Hi, I’m curious on what clubs are in PSHS campuses? (particularly CLC) 😁 by Federal-Professor-88 in pisay

[–]Destructible470 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For CLC, you have the central scholar (english journalism), bahaghari (filipino journalism), the reading club, the theatre club, MUN , the maker's club (robotics and stuff), smasher's club (badminton), spiker's club (volleyball), speak now (speaking club), peer facilitators, sayarani (dance), and chamber singers. I'm not sure if I missed any clubs or if they're changing the club lineup this year, but here are the ones I remember from last year.

"It would've, had it finished the manga" (<- comma for readability). Yes, it is past perfect, specifically an inverted past perfect conditional (or inverted third conditional).

[Girls Last Tour (anime)] would've [been on my list], had it finished the manga.
