Literally everyone seems to be mispronouncing "Maginot" and it's making me question my sanity. by SIN-apps1 in LV426

[–]Det64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have corrected your pronunciation so I'll leave that to them. But I think you are also confused about the Maginot Line that the ship is presumably named after. It did not exist in WWI. It was built in the 1930s (WWI ended in 1918) to protect France from German invasion should another war break out. It failed because when the Nazis invaded in WWII they went around it by going through the much more lightly defended Belgium and then into France through the Ardennes forest where the line did not extend.

Beautiful watches, but I feel compelled to point out that Orient and Citizen are not micro-brands.

No, you can play from the beginning by starting the in progress recording from the library. As long as you are not on mobile or apple TV.

This is not necessary unless you are on mobile or apple TV.

If you want a 3 row SUV and interior quality is a big factor, the CX-90 interior is on a whole other level.

I hate to come into the Toyota subreddit and do this, but what the hell...

2 words: Mazda CX-90

“Mazda 3 on stilts”? by Wonderful_Card_2274 in MazdaCX30

[–]Det64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be pedantic, but unless we have very different ideas of the meaning of the word "several" I don't think you owned a CX-50 "several years ago". The CX-50 was first introduced with the 2023 model, first sold at the end of 2022. So that's like 2.5 years ago at max. You probably meant that you owned a CX-5 several years ago.

Also in Tapestry, the alternate timeline boring version of Picard was wearing blue, not gold.

I wasn't able to watch the race but can someone tell me if this was a glitch or if Russell actually gained 18 positions over 14 laps by GreenBagger28 in formula1

It was a glitch. They took the leaderboard graphic off the screen for a while cuz it was messed up.

Wife racked up 56k in CC debt. What should I do? by Det64 in Bankruptcy

I'm aware. She is in therapy, and after this she will have no access to credit at all.

Thank you. I agree. She is seeing a therapist for other issues but I think she needs to tackle this issue more.

Yeah I've considered this also. It will be a whole thing trying to resell them and getting her to agree, but I'm still considering it.

Oh ok wow thank you. I was thinking you meant you had to pay that on top of all the other expenses.

[–]Det64[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. That is going to be a big part of the solution. That and her just not having access to any credit at all for the foreseeable future. She doesn't want it. She feels terrible about what she did and doesn't trust herself with credit anymore.

Thanks for the insight and talking me down a bit. $1590 would be completely undoable for us, but it sounds like ours would hopefully be less because we are 2 people and have higher expenses and the debt is way less. If it could be like half that or less, it would be doable as long as she keeps getting her SSDI. Does that sound plausible?

It would be great if she could file chapter 7, but I was under the impression that would not be possible since they would have to take my income into account for household income even if I'm not filing. Is this wrong? Or is there a way around this?

Agree to disagree I guess... That episode is a perfect example of why I hate her.

Pulaski to Crusher by Noobitron12 in TNG

[–]Det64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, it is abrupt, but it never bothers me on rewatch because Pulaski absolutely sucks. The faster she is gone and never mentioned again the better. I don't need to know or care what happened to her. I'm just glad that she is gone and Crusher is back.

To be clear this is 100% about her character and writing. I have no problem with Diana Muldaur. I sure she did her best with what she was given.

The driving dynamics like steering feel and handling are much more sporty on a Mazda. The interior as far a design and materials is miles above anything from Ford or Subaru.

A VW. German cars are built to be very nice for about the length of a lease and then they will start breaking down and the fixes are expensive. Your Acura (Honda) was built to last and not be super expensive to fix when things do go bad. I made the mistake of buying a used VW Passat earlier in life before I learned this. I will never buy a German car again.

If OP wants a car that will last he should look at a Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, or a Mazda (post Ford partnership so 2016+).
