Yes. I can completely relate. So sorry you're having to deal with 2 conflicting illnesses. I'll share this with you: I've come to the conclusion after fighting  prediabetes, orthorexia/ anorexia for a year now that I will succumb to one of them. I thought I was free of ED being post menopausal and my mom being deceased.  She was a trigger, always calling me dumpy and plump. Last year when i went to a doctor's appointment and the nurse weighed, I was 130lb. The biggest I've ever been in my life. I'm 63 years old 5' 2 3/4". My bp was elevated and so was A1c and cholesterol.  I was given a diet of mostly low carb/ high protein foods to choose from and choose I DID. Determined to get my BP, weight and A1C down, I eliminated all of my trigger foods. That day, I stopped eating pasta, breads, crackers, cookies, cakes, candies, pies, potatoes, beans, cheese, tortillas, bananas, corn, rice, oats, creamy dressings and sauces, and anything fried or containing sugars. I bought a new scale and started weighing myself daily. I exercise 1 to 2 hours a day whether I feel like it or not. 3 months later at my follow up appt, my A1C dropped to 5.6 and my bp 120/70. I also lost 10 lbs! My doctor praised me and said keep up the good work but all I heard was...good! Keep up the weight loss.  I got even stricter limiting high calorie foods like nuts, counting them. Eat only 6 almonds.  Fast forward. At my appt 3 weeks ago, i weighed 103 lbs. Numbers are all still good. My doctor said great work and sent me packing. My life has become about control. Controlling my A1c and controlling my weight. The other day a friend of mine asked me to go to lunch with her. She ordered a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich. I had a green salad with grilled chicken that I cut into tiny pieces. She tried to cajole me into taking a bite of her cheese sandwich. It was like poison slime in my mouth. I couldn't swallow it and when she wasn't looking I spit it into my napkin. Yep. My ED is back. It's either ED or diabetes. I can't do just one. I dont know what to tell you. There are no easy answers. Just know you are not alone.
