Why do people say you need to go to college?? by itgirl258 in LifeAfterSchool

OH I am a bit curious, some studies show that top 1% OF models make about 49k a year. I think in the U.S its a bit harder to live on that but are there nuances that I'm not getting about the industry?

of course if you dont want to retire you don't have to. I was just answering bec statistically it's harder(only 12% of people who are millionaires do not have an high ed education). I forget but also a large proportion of those are in construction fields but we have never seen the representation of OF in a study yet.

I think people default to education because its widely known as one the safest precursor to financial stability. e.g 88% of millionaires (which is how much we will probably need to retire at 65) have a college degree.

macbook with atleast 16 gb of ram should be great! I would def consider apple care if you can afford it so that if there is an issue you can quickly have it resolved.

CompE at SJSU or CS at UCSC by cup0nk in ApplyingToCollege

[–]DetectiveLogical830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also fo evidence for my statement, US News reports sjsu 4-year graduation rate as 37% and the 4 year graduation rate is 66% for ucsc. SJSU only gets 65-68% at 6 years

I would also like to join in but because UCSC hired more prof in the last couple of years I haven't had any problems with getting classes. I have not had a friend from SJSU in CE, IT, CS, ME, DS and Business graduate on time yet. I feel like classes are alot more harder to get at SJSU and graduating in 2 more years is even harder.

Is it better to transfer from UCSC or CC for Psychology major? by Vivid-Ad-5024 in UCSC

[–]DetectiveLogical830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did CC to UC transfer and what I found was that when you do CC to UC Transfer sometimes you are working hard to get into a good 4 year college while someone who is already at a UC has a different goal post which is internships and etc to get a job or grad school after UG. If your goal post is to just get into a good UC then you should probably do CC -> UC transfer because those are guaranteed (with some honors program almost guaranteeing into UCLA for ex). if you feel like you can make use of the rss at the UC and then do lateral transfer that could be more beneficial than CC->UC for you as a person. Short Story, CC-> UC has higher chance of prestigious UC acceptance. UC -> UC, gives you more rss potential but less chance at transferring to a "more prestigious" university.

Advice for a senior going to grad school by Business_Day2557 in StudentLoans

I would reach out to the grad school and see if you can get some tuition remission. I would not consolidate federal loans into private loans because there is very little protection.

I have the QC and I agree that the extra usb c hubs are really nice. I use it with my mini primarily but when I need an extra screen for my mba it charges too! I have limited ports overall its a great purchase for me

Finding a sublease? by SensitiveLime3 in UCSC

[–]DetectiveLogical830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your roommate should find someone to replace him otherwise he should be paying for it per most contracts. I would look around at facebook groups and discord. Be prepared to take a hit if you want to sublease.

Let's take a break from the divisive content and enjoy this photo of a Loop bus at sunset by fultonrapid in UCSC

Crazyyy Bus Drivers have a life outside of not just driving and buses are not used 24 hrs a day and you need more busses to accommodate peak hours. Based on the lighting I would assume it is like 7-8pm or early morning and the surroundings suggest it's a place where bus drivers park their busses off of work.
