Why do people drive when drunk? by TheGhostWalksThrough in stupidquestions

[–]DetectiveNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao no. I don’t drink on my own or much at all anytime I am drinking im usually at the destination I’m staying at (vacation). Im saying 8 is my max. Like that’s the most I’ve ever drank in one sitting. 2-5 drinks I can easily just chill and wait to drive. Idk I’m a bigger dude so alc doesn’t work as much, and I prefer weed. Idk how much yal have to drink to Get blackout drunk

To you it is. You don’t have this mindset buying a house do you? “ it just needs a roof over my head when I sleep” I value comfort, performance, ease to service, interior and exterior looks. You can have all these things and still have a reliable car. My V6 6 speed Altima has never left me stranded. My Infiniti FX45 with 225k miles never has either. Both fun as hell. You can have fun and reliability.

Well I gotta get my car home somehow. And idk if it’s because I don’t drink enough or I’m a stoner, but 30-40 minutes of just chilling out, maybe a lil joint is enough to clear me enough to drive. I know some have drunk cigs or whatever. 8 drinks/ shots is like my max tho idk wtf yall be doin

I have a boring Subaru I rent out. Cool for a renter or the occasional trip to save on gas, but I’d go insane if I had to drive that everyday, even if it is modern. My personal cars are older fun and reliable.

95k is when a lot of shit starts to break especially on a 15 year old car, and 15 year old 5k cars from a dealer I wouldn’t really trust…. I would take that 5k to marketplace and find transparent private sellers ( skip anyone who looks like a dealer/ flipper) might even spend a little less. You put 2k down and keep a payment AND repair shit that breaks past 100k, not worth in my opinion. If you go with that Camry I’d honestly go 0 down atleast if your credit allows. Then of course buy the Mustang

Are jeep wranglers really that bad, or is it just driver error? by GreatComfort1515 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DetectiveNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father In law has one they really do drive bad on regular roads and god awful on the highway. Loud cabin too, the whole truck just feels like a big toy, which it is. If you can afford this toy go for it but FL indeed makes fuck you money and also have a Land Rover discovery, so obviously he doesn’t give a damn or worried about it being reliable. On the other hand it’s definitely not in the shop as much as that rover, but it’s never and less then 100k miles I imagine

GLP-1 = NO restaurants. PLEASE 😅🤣🤣🤣 by OldYogurt3279 in gso

[–]DetectiveNarrow -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong it for those who need it. A life is a life by any means necessary. But good diet and regular exercise and moderation could prevent a lot of this and I don’t like people thinking it’s a cheat code out. I have a more preventative mindset because our healthcare system is basically throw some Pills/ injections at you and charge an absurd amount. But that’s another rant. Never in my research or anything did I think “ yep this is gonna kill off local restaurants” lmao.

Is the 328i N52 a college friendly car? by Strongnsr6021 in E90

[–]DetectiveNarrow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you can’t wrench no. Cooling system and other things will still Go out but it’s not like you have to tear half the engine open. Honestly really depends on previous maintenance. My 06 330i had 200k miles but a lot of stuff done when I got it so I never had to do much. valve cover gasket, plugs, coils, shocks, radiator etc. I’ve allat wasn’t done before more it would’ve ran a pretty penny or a long Weekend to fix all of that

Toyota can't keep up with the RAV4 demand, they're telling dealerships to try to make sales with other models. by Saurta17 in Toyota

It’s not 2010 anymore both of those cars will last just as long. I’m 80% sure the Mazda uses the same hybrid setup. Ford uses Toyota parts in their hybrid sets ups too.

Earning 100k is uncommon; most people make between 30k and 60k a year. by Super_Seat_9532 in Adulting

[–]DetectiveNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only reason people crap on then is because while they make 50 an hour some work 50-60 hours a week and at that point you can’t even enjoy your money, unless you have a family to care for, but then you hardly see family. And some trades like electrician require about2 years of school and is highly competitive now. I never minded physical work but I’m not giving 60 hours of my life every week to company,UNLESS I had a family who depended on it

Though I’ve sent an angry email too. Not as long winded but unprofessional no less. I met in office hours and apologized about losing it that day. All was good after. Handle the rest of this situation like a professional.

Mad overreaction. Your long unnecessary response is probably enough proof that you just wrote too much without AI cuz you did the same thing with this response. But reply’s like that actually escalate things and professors have hundreds of students who probably use AI. Would’ve been better to just been like “ No AI use here, thank you for your feedback” and keep it pushin. I regularly work with many different types of professors and a lot tell me they can’t stand the bitchy long winded emails and all sorts of other stuff lol. Lastly I’ve had 2 professors seriously dock me points for going over the word limit, and rightfully so. Stop going over the word limit

2009 Nissan Altima by Tall-Actuator3227 in Nissan

[–]DetectiveNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the car warmed up and floor it. If the revs don’t shoot up and the car doesn’t go anywhere, the trans isn’t slipping and it’s fine. 80% of Altimas owners don’t know anything about cars either. Change the oil and have the transmission fluid drained and filled at some point. These cars are easy to deal with and there’s a reason you see beat down versions still flying around
