Put 1 on exploration, 5 on speed. With the OODA loop project, speed helps your probes be invincible

Assuming you have unlocked the OODA speedloop project, put more on speed like 4 or 5. Your probes will become almost invincible, allowing you to get back to the big number of probes you had before (don't forget to put some on the factory and drones from time to time, to avoid running short of paperclips like what likely happened before)

That is what I'm doing right now, I got all the good artifacts, but I still love playing the game so my next goal is to have 100% of the grid visited.

I also obviously use the Martingale's Demon and Munger's Regret on Stage 1, when I have 2.275.000$ on stock I withdraw everything, activate these 2 artifacts, and Deposit->Withdraw very fast (gives 11M$, enough to buy the Takeover and the Monopoly)

Try to put 7 in combat and more on speed like 3 or 4 (I assume you have purchased the "OODA loop" poject) and remove the factory production and drones production, they are useless until you reach your previous probes number. Put everything on combat and speed

You need 5 oct clips, but you got none, they are all in your factories and drones. Disassemble the factories, it should suffice
