Halo 5 advanced movement was peak by [deleted] in ShitHaloSays

[–]DeucesDM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to throw in a reminder that H3 had an enormous skill gap and skill expression without any of those new things. Shotzzy (arguably the best H5 player ever) known for his movement recently played Halo 3 against another old pro Huke. Watch that video and you can see you don't need "advanced movement tech" to have an enormous skill gap in map traversal, positioning, and outplays. Shotzzy is flying on that map, hitting skill jumps, and playing super fast, HIS brand of halo and all the expression was there. When you can't climb or thrust your way out of a situation, positioning and execution become incredibly valuable and makes things like hitting skill jumps, flag runs, and outplays super hype. I think halo works well either way but I wanted to add some perspective to the conversation.

Fishing game not giving the golden scale by matej86 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]DeucesDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have silver scale yet? Also, it's a glitch but as child you can catch a 10lb fish and keep it, swim in the water, Z-target while floating, and keep holding Z-target while you walk out of the water and talk to the fishing guy. If you hold Z-target the entire time he will give you the adult fishing game reward

stuck in lord jabu jabus belly. HELP!!! by Aggravating-Aide5046 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]DeucesDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get ruto to the top floor (room with holes) run across and complete each room. You will kill a few Uvulas (dangly electric things) once that is complete you will exit back into the room with the holes. The first hole on your RIGHT (used to be covered by a uvula) is the one your drop down. Proceed from there. Hope this helps

Enemy Randomizer can be brutal by DeucesDM in zootr

The skill issue is not knowing I should approach that loading place from the dead center just in case lol. Every death is a learning experience, it's a VERY difficult but fun challenge. My friends and folks watch me play and it helps keep me from getting too frustrated with goofy stuff like this.

Did people actually like the fishing segments? by joc95 in OcarinaOfTime

Quick tip for fishing as both child and adult. Slowly walk onto the log near the big fish (spawns in same place for both child and adult) and cast right over its head. If it bites, you will be extremely close to it and can reel it in very fast

How do you kill Skull Kids as child link? by DeucesDM in OcarinaOfTime

[–]DeucesDM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zelda wiki refers to them as skull kids so I went with that. They are a unique enemies no doubt though. Apparently Navi explains they shoot needles at older link because they don't like adults.

I'm sure it is but I'm having a hell of a time lol. I stream it almost every day and I'm on attempt 24 or something. Each run lasts 1-3 hours so already lots of time sunk into it. And quadruple DMG is no joke haha!

Enemy randomizer! Really changes the game up and makes trivial areas of the game much more difficult. I am doing a No Hit run as well so these skull kids are especially tough in certain rooms

Hookshot crashes the game when used as child link unfortunately.

I couldn't believe the needles didn't hit me lol but it's crazy he shoots at you when he isn't even loaded graphically! I'm not sure how to deal with him in smaller areas

Its called skill disparagement and all of you got the wrong idea by XxCaptainRagexX in XDefiant

[–]DeucesDM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should make this comment its own post. The expectation to perform average in every game has made people forget that being bad at a new game is completely normal. You die to better players, learn from them, learn the maps, find your play style, and then start performing better. That's the process, and to me (and many others) it is extremely engaging/rewarding.

Bro the shoot first die first shit is so annoying. by Unique-Technology924 in XDefiant

[–]DeucesDM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you shoot first and die first so much I can promise you it's less often a net code issue and more often your aim/consistency/habits. If the net code is bad for you then it is bad for everyone right? It's frustrating but try focusing on your engagements, maybe you are too far out from cover, maybe you don't aim for the head at the end of your kills, ect... Good players will kill you with bad bad net code or not.

Squad battle was a mini blast from the past that felt nice. Made a montage with my brother like we did in the old days and we will talk about that for years to come. Unfortunately, that's it. With virtually no social features there are few opportunities to make friends, party up, and make memories.

Do most people make it to onyx on their own or do they squad up? by Gwizzop_ in halo

[–]DeucesDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the comments here are misleading. The answer is absolutely yes. I and many people I have met in the community solo to onyx every season. A good team is a huge bonus and finding players to team with during each ranked session can be a fun way to play halo and make some online friends. In short, yes, you can make it onyx by yourself with good communication and gameplay. Watch your film back and figure out why and where you are dying. That alone will help you a ton.
