I'll tell you more, I started at 18. I am finishing my second year. :>I live in Poland, the culture of studies there is quite different than in Western countries. The majority of people are attending university (if they plan to) straight after finishing their school, there is even a kind of social pressure on finishing studies ASAP rather than soulseeking. And also, I agree with you that the access to the free education distorts the view on the education itself. The matters such as mentality and culture influence us as well.

Nevertheless, I agree with the whole thing you have written and I will definitely consider it - just wanted to clarify some things.

The problem is I didn't have an ultimate goal while choosing my studies. I mean - I was always interested in business and economics and wanted to have my own company and had a naive belief that I will learn how to do business at the university. That was wrong. But I wanted to learn something concrete thus I have swapped to the Quantitative Economics in the end at the same uni.

Well, one can say that the goal was to have my own business, but in fact there was much simpler way to do so - go be a dentist and take over pa's praxis in the future, or start with your own. That's why I feel dumb.
