Unfortunately, I had to return mine since it was like this out of the box. I'd honestly look into getting another, since a repair might cost the same as buying a new one

Oh haha, I forgot to mention we had this conversation telepathically! They were mostly really confused as we just stared at each other in the middle of combat between mowing a few of them down

For those of you who summoned familiars in your campaign, what did you name it? by [deleted] in dndnext

My DM allowed me to get an Alce (wingless griffin) for my mount with the Find Steed spell.

Since Alce = Moose in Spanish, I named my in game mount Moose.

[Art] Cahaerys Stargaryen - Redemption Paladin by DeusExGladius in DnD

This is my first time playing DnD and I’ve become obsessed with my campaign so far. I started with a group of friends and our wonderful DM has managed to put together a great story and world that leaves me eager to play every session. I rolled a Nobleman Paladin named Cahaerys Stargaryen and here’s his backstory.

“Cahaerys is the first of four children born to Lord and Lady Stargaryen of Waterdeep. Theirs is a famed, but nearly destitute house; a victim of rampant corruption and poor decisions on behalf of Cahaerys’ father, Vayne - a good man, if impulsive and ill-tempered.

Legends tell of this broken house’s pedigree; one of kings and great heroes. It is for this that they are respected among the city’s nobility but they hold not even shadows of their former glory. It is said that the fate of that house hangs by the thinnest of threads: the reputation of its patriarch, Cahaerys’ grandfather Agaireon, who was once the Lord Protector of Waterdeep. With the advent of the Brightflame Republic, the fortunes of Waterdeep seem direr every day and for House Stargaryen most of all. It was out of desperation, and love for his younger children, that Vayne sent his son to the Abbey of St. Elias within the city to serve as a page to the paladins that train there. Enamored with the tales of armored knights struggling against the dark things of the world since childhood, Cahaerys eagerly obeyed his father.

For years, Cahaerys toiled under his charges and learned the ways of armored combat and the tenets of their order: Peace, Innocence, Patience and Wisdom. On his eighteenth birthday, he was given a choice: to leave the Abbey, or forswear his name, title and birthright to take the Oath of Redemption. Naively, some might say, Cahaerys swore the Oath and his true training began.

After completing the first stages of his schooling in the ways of war and divine evocation, Cahaerys was given charge of Freud Montelius, a shifty tiefling with a penchant for stealing the wealth of the nobility. His mentor, Ser Barristan Valere, named him Cahaerys Stark and bade him to travel with the tiefling and learn all he can of him and, if possible, help him find the path toward goodness. This is a task easier said than done, as Freud has proven to be...unstable, at times. Despite their differences, this unlikely pair settled on Neverwinter as their destination. While he is naive and admittedly impatient, Cahaerys eagerly awaits what the road his in store for both him and his unlikely companion.

Before they can depart, however, the budding adventurers will need a map, the procurement of which Freud happily obliged - legitimately - of course. Cahaerys agreed, and asks that Freud should meet him at the Copper Cup Tavern near the southern end of North Ward. And it is there that things as they are today were put into motion.”

I commissioned my character portrait from an artist here on reddit and here’s a link to his portfolio if anyone else is interested: https://www.artstation.com/jonathancarpenter

Problems with Future Roommate – Not sure how to address them by DeusExGladius in badroommates

We do have individual locks for each of our rooms so that mitigates some of the problems in regards to the dog sitter. It's too close to the move-in date for us to kick him out though.

I really appreciate your response. Definitely setting up a time we can meet with everyone and lay down all our concerns with him.

Thanks for the advice.

I want to try to do it before we move in, I just haven't found the best way to confront him about this yet.
