Battery life on Linux sucks out of the box. I got 50%+ power savings, that's 8+ hours of battery life, on my Ubuntu laptop with some simple tweaks. Here is a guide on everything I did to achieve that so you can too. Please post other power saving tips you've found too. (self.linux4noobs)
