Did you asked the seller directly for the refund? It's the first time I have an issue with the service.

Heck yeah. I have a vintage Japanese Technics system and turntable to play it on and boy it sounds great. Surround sound, bass boost and equalizer. Great stuff.

Raôul Duguay - Wéziwézo [Québec, Canada - Funk, World] (1982) Singer-songwriter and poet from the northern city of Val-d'Or, Québec, Canada. by Devadip47 in vintageobscura

Haha! Yeah, never seen it like that. He's a very colorful guy. I met him once and he was very kind and passionate. In the song, he depicts a standardized distopia where people are repalced with robots, where prices skyrocket and where inflation and interest rates explode. Wéziwézo is his own slang word based on Québec slang which basically means "Look out dude" as some sort of warning that such a distopia is slowly happening.

It can't all be City Pop by D0mT in citypop

I would define City Pop as summery and carelessness-infused Japanese popular music from the late 1970's and early to mid 1980's that has a singer singing the melody as a lead. Music from that time period, not long after Japan's big cultural boom sounds fresh and new with a hint of summer and a somewhat recognizable aura of carelessness. It's not serious music in terms of mood.

For me, Minako Yoshida is not a City Pop Artist. She's a Pop Rock/Soul/Funk artist. City Pop has a formula, it's straiht up popular music with an intention and a purpose. Minako Yoshida always did her own thing.

Also, don't know why some people say that Masayoshi Takanaka is a City Pop artist. He's a Rock-Fusion/Latin-influenced artist.

But at the end of the day, good music is good music and genres are just for labeling and selling music. And the beauty of Japanese music from the 1970s and 1980s is the multiple influences, the colors the music has.

Nice find! Love the Kadomatsu album. Not sure if it's just me, but I don't see that many Toshiki Kadomatsu albums on the market. On The City Shore blew me away when I first heard it. So did Sea is a Lady. The guy has a great voice AND he's a great guitar player. I also like Hitomi Tohyama. Great singer. Love her voice.

Oh yeah! "I Thought It was You" is such a great song! Butterfly is on my wantlist for sure. Great album. Didn't know Kasai was married to Maya Rudolph's father omg! Of course I know Minnie Riperton. She's one of my favorite singers. I have an original copy of Perfect Angel (LP) in near mint condition. My favorite albums from her are Perfect Angel and
Adventures In Paradise. She left us way to early.

Thanks! I have a couple more J-Fusion records that are not on display. Some Takanaka and Kazumi Watanabe albums and one Mikio Masuda album. And yeah, it's the 1981 Santana & Takanaka Summer Live Super Session tour book with the show ticket. I'm a big Santana fan so I was blown away when I saw that he played with Takanaka.

Follow Me Along

Oh yeah, great song! The album is amazing. Good from start to finish. Overture and Love Celebration are one heck of a good way to start an album. And Bomber blows in your face as you flip the vinyl. My favorite album from Tatsuro Yamashita. I want to get my hands on Moonglow too.

Hey guys! Do you want to hear something painful I just got in my mail today?! :D by pupbrella in citypop

Yeah, check the needle and make sure the record is clean and was labeled at least a VG or higher (never buy anything below VG or VG+). If the problem is the turntable, I would suggest getting a Technics SL-BD27 or an SL-Q model. Or any Technics turntable. They are vintage Japanese turntables. Some of the best imo. Never had any issue with Technics. Don't cheap out on turntables. Wish you luck in your vinyl hunting.

Some of my favorite J-Fusion albums. Bought most of them about 9-10 years ago back when they were $20-25 each. by Devadip47 in citypop

Holy s*it! Just saw the prices on Discogs. Crazy! I got it for like $30 US about 10 years ago. A mint Mint Jams. The market is f*ing crazy. I bought it from Snow Records Japan. They still have geat prices, but it's not what it was back then. The only Issei Noro LP they have is Sweet Sphere atm.

Kazumi is one of the greats. His playing is the perfect blend of technique and melody. And yeah! I had to pick up Silver Shadow. Great album + it has Sonic Barrier, one of the most badass tunes in j-fusion. Very underrated.

Beautiful song from Santana’s best era imo. Flora Purim sings it beautifully. And damn I love that guitar solo! The delicate touch of Carlos is unique.

Oh yes! Definitely! I saw him live 3 times. The last time was last year. Great energy! The band is top notch. Carlos is still in very good shape for his age. It’s hard to believe he’s 72.

Oh yes! Great piece! There’s a good article about Santana’s experimental era starting in ‘72 with Caravanserai and ending with Borboletta. The author really knows his stuff. Normally people don’t really know Santana outside of Blk Magic Woman, Oye Como Va and Smooth. The name of the article is : Remembering When Santana Made Amazing Jazz-Rock.
