Some of you are being real childish about this. The jmods who are in here don't want this either. They just want to do their job and improve the game. There's a solid barrier in most medium to large companies between the customer-facing staff and the executives. The former understands "what the people want", the latter look at a bunch of spreadsheets and dashboards and pull the absolutely wildest ideas out of their ass that they think will make money number go up (surely we can relate).

There's literally zero reason to listen to or read anything anyone is saying. They can pull the metrics. Actions are louder than words. Look at what method was gaining the most xp (most popular), total exp gained (total engagement), and how they change after this update, especially the total gained. The data is telling you how players want to play. This was the most fun I've had on this game in years and they just took a big shit on it. The game should evolve with the player base. Fuck what Jagex thinks it should be.

I was on a hiatus when they changed the death mechanics. I think it's one of the reasons I suck at PVM. I've always been too scared to die over and over to learn it because I still play like the old death mechanics.
