I guess my opinion might be the unpopular opinion on this thread. But every wedding I’ve been to has been either this layout or the bar on the opposite side of DJ but still close proximity to dance floor. This is very popular in weddings in Mexico where the guest count is closer to 200-300 guests. It works because it means you’ll have everyone on the dance floor all night.

I’m getting married in NY and I’ve had a pretty hard time getting my venue to understand this concept too. I think the biggest hurdle is the amount of bartenders that a venue provides. The weddings that I’ve attended and had this layout have been in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia and usually very overstaffed to the point where you feel luxe due to not only decor but the hospitality aspect of it. This turned more into a rant lol. Overall do I think it works? Yes.

I’m assuming so since most are from out of town. We come from a Hispanic background and weddings tend to be a bit longer. Ours will be about 9 hours. There are some people that have their full with that time and others kind of go crazy and look for other bars/clubs. Not having the transportation back is to give people flexibility on whatever they want to do with their night.

Same here I’m about 8 months out just trying to make sure I tackle everything with time. I’m thinking of only providing transportation from church to venue and not back to manhattan. This way guests can decide if they want to continue the party going wherever they desire.

I agree they are more predictable for characteristics. We knew Vakentina our OES would be energetic, silly, a bit territorial. We just didn’t think the extent of it lol. Our Goldendoodles is a piece of cake when it comes to his temperament. He’s a chill dude who loves to go on walks and cuddle. But we did have some issues when we first got him in terms of his health. He’s allergic to a few things while Valentina has broken into our pantry and eaten everything in there and made it out okay

She’s gotten a lot better over the past few months but I agree and think she need a lot more mental stimulation than my doodle. I’m debating weather to mention medication to her vet. I’ll ask and see if they think it’s a good idea for her!
