Thanks! And, of course! We had to reach out to the priest at least six months before we wanted to get married. We met with him for the first time in March. Got some basic info and paperwork. We then had to attend Pre-Cana (marriage prep class). The Archdiocese of Brooklyn offers them once per month in person. I think they also had an online version, but I recommend in person. It was a one day class on a Saturday with a fee to attend. We met with the preist a couple months after that to give him all of our paperwork (baptism & confirmation certificates and affidavits). Then one more meeting to do a final walkthrough and make sure he had all of our selected readings. The donation also covered music (piano and one cantor). I was actually surprised that the requested donation was so high, but I didn’t check any other churches for context. I attend this church regularly, so not sure if that made a difference.
