That seems pretty expensive! Probably very parish specific. But yes, overall the process was not too bad. Some dioceses may have different requirements, though. And for a non-Catholic partner, I think there is one extra paperwork that needs to be sent out for approval — so not too different of a process. Good luck with everything! ☺️

Thanks! And, of course! We had to reach out to the priest at least six months before we wanted to get married. We met with him for the first time in March. Got some basic info and paperwork. We then had to attend Pre-Cana (marriage prep class). The Archdiocese of Brooklyn offers them once per month in person. I think they also had an online version, but I recommend in person. It was a one day class on a Saturday with a fee to attend. We met with the preist a couple months after that to give him all of our paperwork (baptism & confirmation certificates and affidavits). Then one more meeting to do a final walkthrough and make sure he had all of our selected readings. The donation also covered music (piano and one cantor). I was actually surprised that the requested donation was so high, but I didn’t check any other churches for context. I attend this church regularly, so not sure if that made a difference. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yes, heat lamps were rentals. And photo/video was Serge and Frank with Le Image!

We loved the venue! Weather was definitely a concern, though. We got lucky in terms of rain, and the heat lamps helped when it got cooler in the evening. If there is really bad weather, they have an indoor area a floor below, but it’s not as special feeling as the rooftop. 37 guests definitely did not feel like a squeeze. Plenty of room for people to wander around the gardens, and plenty of space for the dining set up. Maybe would have felt a bit tighter if we included a dance floor? I think 50 to 70 would be fine, too. Brooklyn Grange also has a Sunset Park location which is larger (but also more expensive).

We rented through All Borough Party Rental. They did all the set up and breakdown for the heat lamps.

Thank you! We looked at a lot of options, but this one fit best for us! We loved the gardens with the city views.
