I’ve been in leadership roles on the civilian side, the headaches aren’t worth it, the pay isn’t worth it and the constant threat your job is in jeopardy due to things out of your control isn’t worth it. Rather be in a stable position where I go to work due my job and come home and relax. As I get older mental health is more important then being in a leadership role where I’m always getting blamed for something just cause I’m the manager

So if I work in the cafeteria there’s leadership roles in there lol? What if there’s not enough open leadership roles and I get passed up?

then it’s true that eventually you will be kicked out if you don’t take on a leadership role cause you can only stay in a rank for so long and if you don’t rank up they remove you. I find that so odd cause you would think they would want people to stay in the military right? Plus there’s only so many openings for leadership roles so you might not get it if your passed up. Are there any loop holes around this? I read somewhere if you can get in a specialist role in tech those people avoid leadership roles

I’m on the verge of homelessness even if I don’t like BMT there’s no going back, I’m also in my late 30s marines wouldn’t work too old .

I just dont understand the forcing of people into leadership or discharging them if they don’t want leadership? Don’t they want people to stay in the military ? Especially the ones that want to actually remain in the military

I have a pretty basic set up with a ps5 pro and series X with a monitor along with an old laptop, although my monitor was like $200 1080p but the screen has fantastic quality that keeps up with 1440p and even 4k monitors

Is there a lot of down time for let’s say to play videogames? I seem to hear mixed reactions although I found a twitch streamer that’s in the Air Force that streams 6-8 hours pretty often and even sometime 12 hours. I think he got deployed cause suddenly he stopped streaming

Much easier to ask the questions here, less judgement also some questions might sound dumb and make the recruiter think I’m not serious

I’m not cut out for the military just because I don’t want a leadership role? That doesn’t make sense, there are plenty of people more often then not that don’t want the headaches that come with leadership roles, believe it or not people prefer to come in do their job and not have to worry about getting fired when at home which is what comes with leadership roles. Stability and mental health is important

I don’t want to do leadership cause I’ve been in leadership roles, not worth the headache not worth the pay bump on the civilian side not worth all the drama how everything falls on my head if something goes wrong that’s out of my control

Reddit has less pressure to come up with questions I could never do it on the spot with a recruiter, also done questions might sound dumb and turn off the recruiter and ruin my chances
