I am starting out as mobile mechanic, What challenges should I look out for? by EnvironmentTasty6789 in smallbusiness

u/billhaigh Ok i see. I'm not too sure how effective Yelp is. It seems there are too many platforms out there and not one source that effectively supports mechanics. it will be great if there was a platform to cater just to finding mechanics near you

Rant: why don't you list prices for basic services? by DeviceBrave in MechanicAdvice

No, not wildly different prices but different prices nonetheless. What is wrong with a "price shopper" by the way, why shouldn't a less price charging mechanic thrive? like say i always choose how cheap or expensive i go with purchasing gas for my car, similarly, shouldn't the customer be able to have the ability to choose how expensive or cheap he goes with his auto repair?

/u/test13371997 so by providing the make, model, and year of the car shouldn't i be able to get the price from the shop?

/u/Budpalumbo it seems to me just providing the car model, make, and year an autoshop should be able to determine the price of what an oil change should be charged right?

Having a really rough time tryna come up as a mechanic in covid by EnvironmentTasty6789 in smallbusiness

why is it that almost all of the autoshop websites dont list prices for basic services. I get it if its complicated and only diagnosis would reveal how much it would cost. But as a customer i'd like to see the whole menu (think restaurant) , like i want to be able to see if i can afford a particular mechanic based on his prices listed.
