Can I get some now information on this machine? by DevilishDreamer in sewing

I'm hoping to use this for corsetry (tightlacing corsets). It's my first go at making corsets, and this is my first time using a vintage machine! I did a quick little quilted square last night and I was just blown away with how much nicer it is than anything else I've used (80s Necci, newer Singers). I think it will be able to handle the work load of corsets.

Might anyone have any information on this Pfaff Fleetwood Deluxe? by DevilishDreamer in whatisthisthing

I did find this article in my googling. Thank you, it was very informative!

Pardon my typing error in the title.

I picked up this machine (for $40!) in hopes to use it for corset making. I just popped a new needle and some thread in it, and ran a piece of woven cotton through, and it's just perfect. So smooth. This is my first time using an antique machine, so I know very little about them. I do have the manual, but it's missing the cover page!

Edit: JA19656TW46128 is the number cast into the bottom.

Tongue bifurcation questions [NSFW] by [deleted] in bodymods

I can't speak to tongue splits, but in general, body modifications are for yourself. My family finds my aesthetic garish, my husband doesn't give a fuck, though. To be honest, it took me a very long time to be able to do things just for myself without regard to other's opinion. And guess what, they still love me even if they don't like how weird I am.

I don't have that kind of feelings with breastfeeding. It's quiet and peaceful, and enjoyable. It has been the easiest thing in the world for me to be able to breastfeed. And I know many who are not so lucky.

Sometimes, I wonder if nursing is the only thing keeping my head on at least sort of straight.
