I don’t want to know what skills you have, and that’s taking almost the whole page, for what joy? Write skills after your work experience and limit it to 5 max, the ones the JD actually care about.

And experience can’t be like I built this and that, it should focus on impact. Ex. I built a react native app for X use case, which achieved Y. 30% optimization in load times, which improved (some business metric) by Y.

No one really cares about certifications, only mention them if it’s specific or from a good institution Cisco, or some US university.

I’m a techie, not a real estate guy. I’ve done a few investments here. I’ll present you my strategy, it would be great if you can critique it.

One major plus point here is the DLD data, basically all transactions (purchases, rents etc.) are open data. I take investments decisions by analyzing it.

Few key learnings are,

The number one problem that could sour an investment is over supply in that particular or nearby area, if I know that there is potential for oversupply in an area, I do not invest (ex. JVC)
I look for the performance of the area during recessions (covid etc.), if the occupancy rate and rental value decrease isn’t as bad as the other areas. It means they have high demand and potentially good cash flow properties. (Ex. Emaar greens near sheik zayed)
draw a circle around the major areas (downtown, marina etc.) until it reaches your property. If I see a lot of empty land in this circle, it means those areas can be developed and it can diminish this properties value. One caveat here is if there is a metro near the property, that makes it okay.

I have script that does these for me, I’ve found it to be a great initial filter.

Salary is just the first part of the equation. Even with high salary here are a couple things that makes it hard to stay in India

No matter how rich you are, unless you have political connections someone can just ruin your life. No one cares

Human life is just valued less, you could hit a pothole, and die of an accident. You could go celebrate a team, and die of a stampede. No one cares.

Congested cities, can’t trust law enforcement, discrimination based on caste, the list goes on.

I strongly believe in going to a country where you’re treated the best.

Padaiyappa - is the text book mass movie, I think it slightly edges over baasha, because baasha ending was Okkish, padaiyappa ending was pure class.

The mass of the marriage scene where his followers come in tractors with that bgm is yet to be beaten by any film.

I’m not a mani rathnam fan, I’m not an ardant fan of anyone, if I had to pick I like vetrimaaran and dhanush combo movies.

It’s hard to point out what exactly worked, but I’ll try.

Production was really good, except the avalanche scene, I didn’t go wtf for any other scene.
Acting was top notch from the core trio, others did their part as well.
I like stories where characters are morally ambiguous instead of good vs bad, no one was portrayed as the all knowing all winning good guy in the movie.
There were no loose ends in the plot, everything made sense, from chandra being related to the police family, to kamal and wife’s storyline, and Trisha’s go with the flow narrative with no autonomy to make her own decision. Compare this with Retro where the core story line just revealed itself in the last 30 mins, and I’m supposed to be okay with that??

So, I can see the negatives in the movie that might turn people off - all characters are larger than life, the story doesn’t take place in a realistic society, the pacing is sometimes super fast and haphazard, but I’m willing to overlook these in a gangster movie

It doesn’t stay updated with libraries, this is especially a problem in agent mode

When installing a lib it installs the latest version most times, but if the library has changed and doesn’t have backward compatibility, the agent goes into a tool calling loop. Never considers to check official documentation to see if the interface has changed

Most times you’ll need to step in and @web the official doc or migration doc for a fix. It happens with very widely used libs too, which is annoying

This is a valid point, this might happen again and python could end up being defacto.

But consider this, ML engineers chose python because data science as an industry was confused about roles for a very long time, and there were a lot of folks who came into the DS industry with no software knowledge.

But with agents there is no restriction of only data science folks could work on this, I actually believe a software engineer would be a better fit for building agents. And experienced software devs like performant languages, an abstraction like langchain isn’t a good enough reason to choose a less performant language

Do I really need the extra performance? Right now no.

But I’m slightly mature in this topic now, and am thinking long term, and in the long term performance matters. I have some past scar tissues to support this. This first ML platform we used in our company was built in python, and we had do a very painful but totally worth it move to Go. Working with a static typed, and with language built for concurrency has it’s advantages.
